I've been playing around a bit with a 185 bpm song, reviews would be appreciated. This is not the final rendering, still has a road to go as far as polish goes, but composition-wise... yeah. For those who are not South African the samples are translated below
http://rghost.net/3002206
"One morning, early! Long before sunrise, mom and dad woke up the children to go to the farm for the whoooolleeee day. They drove and drove, drove and drove....." [Note: In Afrikaans drive and ride are the same word]
"Excited and happy they arrived on the farm, and they looked at EVERYTHING"
"Who can march like a soldier"
"Let's go walk in the forest so that the porridge may cool"
"Whooo ate some of my porridge, WhoOOooo Sat on MY CHaaIiRR, WHO SLEPT ON MY BED?"
"Big Fat Father Bear"
"Medium mother bear"
"Tiiinnyyy little baby bear"
"That is perfect!"

Taii, I tend to use soundcloud for things that have a layer or two of varnish more than that rendering did - when I'm through polishing it'll go to soundcloud

ahaha, like the madness at 1:37, ahah what the, easy on that maan ,dont like the first part of the track, middle is ok, i think u should lower bpm, so you will have more time and space to work in, use more fx, like phaser , flanger, pan etc on ur sounds, instead of just pitch bend, and try making progressive grooves, as in not same loops running over and over, but a logical progression, keep working bru

I appreciate the commentary... I was curious though what you meant with "use more phaser, flanger, etc" - you might've noticed there is a lot of phasing and flanging going on over the percussion, and over the kick and bass... aaaaannndddd what zegactly did you mean by "just pitch bend"? You mean change more things that just the pitch of the notes played (i.e more modulation)?
The idea has always been this is just a fun/joke track, so the BPM is not coming down
Imagine 4-year-olds on crack running around a farm...that kinda vibe is what I was going for

commentary ey, what i mean by use more flangers, phasers, etc,is using more fx in your sound so, the sounds are moving about, changing shape, even tho u have used them on some sounds, they seem to be justdoing very little in terms of evolving into a story , or a progessive construction, so the sounds build up and explode, that building up is what i was reffereing to, not just fx'in all the sounds into a mish mash, they dont seem to be expressing anything other than some chaotic madness, pitch bending is all i see u do with most of ur so called leads, they just do the same thing, not going anywhere, all i say is even tho you r doing it for fun, put some effort into leading the sound in a progressive manner, so there is actually a story behind all papa bear, mamabear thing.lower bpm's will give you more time and space to work in, because the sounds r slower, the modulation will be clearer, and you can tweek them very precicesly, you can do what you wish, keep the bpm ,whatever u want, do whatever you want, i just gave my 2 cents, you can disregard whatever i said, if you think it does not make sense,i have only been producing seriously for 4-5 months now, so i dont know what am i talking about, the words are just suggestions, soory but i dont like that fast sound, meaningless for me, all i can say is keep working
peace and bom
