Doubleclick on the audio file to get to the sample editor.
Select the area that you want to be affected.
At the top where it says "Factory" Select time & pitch machine.... Bob's your uncle!
However, I would personally suggest using a 3rd party audio editor for pitchbending.... An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

good idea the 3rd party audio editor mubali thx a lot!
regarding the time and pitch machine, its not what im looking for, i already know the function but this doesnt allow to apply an envelope (ascending slope) to the pitch shift

you might want to use the pitch shifter plugin on the channel and automate it... ;/

If you want to get the typical pitch bending effect that you get from samplers, make sure you move the formants of the sound as well.
Pitch shifting will move the pitch but maintain (or try to at least) the formants of the sound, which sounds quite different than pitch bending.
Anyway, loading the audio file on a sampler is pretty much the easiest and fastest way of doing it afaik, and if the sampler allows you to specify a big range of semitones that the pitch bend will cover, you can get some mad and great sounding effects as you pitch up and down a few 8ves.

Very true about the sampler idea.... It would be the most convienent way to do crazy pitch bends and hopefully still keep it somewhat in time...
I think I will have to try that soon....
You are right about that ascending slope thing, It doesn't really work that well... I usually just use soundforge to get the ascending pitchslope....

That's true... Always an option... I've been thinking about trying to use some of the functions in cubase and using Logic for the main track creations... One offtopic question though... Are some of the effects for cubase like the step filter available as vst?

You could always export the audio, then import it into Cubase where you can apply as complicated a pitch-shift envelope as you like, using curves or straight lines, with or without formant correction...

Sorry Aeon... It's gonna have to be a gradual switch if anything... Not to mention, I was never the cool kid in school. If it aint broke don't fix it... Just relax and let it float...
