if you use cubase, you can import the kick as an audio file and, right clicking on it, under the submenu "process", you have "pitch shift"....
after processing the kick you may save it and load it to your sampler or use it the way you already do...

that's about it...

hope I could help...

If not using cubase, you can use SoundForge:

Klick effects menu, then pitch. There are two menus now bend and shift

I using almost always pitch bend for kicks.

If you use FruityLoops you can change the build in sampler, I got good results with that too.

You can pitch any sound with any sampler - there is nothing special about the kick pitch itself.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

FL studio has a very nice way of pitching samples. It's called 'pogo' and seems to be especially made for kick-like samples...

(although a crowd sample that starts from very high pitch and goes to normal pitch (not linear btw)in about a second is also cool)

try using fl4s piano roll and look for the tabs in the bottom left corner...then u can change their pitch underneath the notes in the notes...

in no pro but thats how i get good results with pitchbending kicks. other wise use soundforge and apply pitch bending effect accordingly..
