Put it in a sampler and use the pitch bend to tune it by ear. It works much better than using pitch shift plug ins.
People do tune their hats, its always best to use one that fits the tune well, but I also have slightly tuned hat samples that I like, they just blend in better.
Its a bit of an anal thing to do and the punters will never notice it, but people do make tunes to please them selves, in which case, some may find that tuning hats, please them even more.
