yeah i hate tuning them up more than a half step. Get a sample that fits better, or you could use a phaser/flanger to cover up the weirdness           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

Try to find a sample that fits indeed. Better to replace the sample than to shift it if it doesnt sound well.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

(Regarding the topic and not your question,) one thing I like about Ableton's Impulse 8 track drum rack is the ability to use randomness on a bunch of parameters, specifically the sample pitch. You can achieve some great hat sounds just by playing a simple 1/16th hat and adjusting the random to taste..

I usually will use it to pitch the sample more then 1 semitone, but be careful not to overuse it.

Regarding your question, either process the sound until it's the same note and you like it, change the sample (or use a drum synth), or just forget about it: us producers always try to get every single detail right and everything perfect, but whoever listens most certainly just doesn't care.           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

as i've said it's probably the transient of the hihats, or bad eq that is making it sound out of tune           VA - Spiritual Science out now!
