Pitch Black remix project

Pitch Black have posted the remix parts for Harmonia up as a 103mb Zip file at http://www.pitchblack.co.nz/harmonia/.
The Zip file contains 24bit WAV files and an Ableton Live 6 Project with the WAVs laid out in Session View.
If you're not a Live user, just grab the WAVs from the Samples > Imported folder.
The following is a message from the band:
......... Why are we doing this? What's our aim for all this?
Well, firstly we love hearing our stuff remixed!! We love hearing other people's take on our sounds.
In putting out this remix kit we also have two plans:
- We will be releasing a Pitch Black Remixed CD in the first half of 2009. We will put one or two of these Harmonia Remixes on it. We will split the ownership and publishing of these remixes 50/50 between the Remixer and Pitch Black, and also pay an advance of NZ$500. In addition to the advance, the remixer will receive 50% of any money generated from the sale or licensing of the Remix.
- We will also be putting a selection of the remixes on a digital download single in early 2009. Ownership and publishing of these will also be 50/50 Remixer/Pitch Black, but we won't be able to pay out an advance on these. However, you the remixer will still receive 50% of any money generated from the sale or license of your Remix.
Can I use the parts in my own tracks? A: YES! If you want to use the parts in your own tracks or shows - please do! However, if you are going to make money off these tracks, please get in touch with us via: mike (at) dub (dot) co.nz and we'll work out an appropriate and fair arrangement.
Basically: just let us know, we'll say yes, and cut us in on a bit of the action. In putting this out there, we're hoping that open-ness and honesty will prevail and good times will continue to be had by all. (How's that for the Pitch Black Corporate Mission Statement?)

Without wanting to go too far off topic, I just noticed that there's an upcoming collaboration album from Bluetech and Pitch Black. (see bottom of tour poster: http://www.pitchblack.co.nz/upimg/blacknblue%20web.jpg).
Well, about time. Two great atmospheric acts! Should be a corker!
Hopefully it's not too far away.
Does this mean there's any chance there'll be a Pitch Black and Bluetech combined live set at Rainbow Serpent Festival this year ?? |
