I played with 1000 and IMHO this is truly great.
Its exactly like vinyl.. no effects... but you can reverse the song exactly like vinyl.. slow it down with the jog dial like it were a record. the looping is bang on for me... I was mixing some real minimal stuff... using loops... are great

YES American DJ Players are great!
I'M using AmiDJ PRO DJ1 (the old school ones with Alu-Deck). And I love them!
I had so much bad experiences in the very past with Pioneer, that I'm using AmiDJ since years. I have them all time with me and they play under all weather-conditions: Tropical rain, dusty hot daytime, cold swiss smowtime.. And they are backpack-proof and airport resistent.
OK, if you need scratching and things like that, you cannot do.. but did you ever fit the bpm with the + - knobs instead of the Jog???
And now you can kill me, cause I never use Pioneer.. ;-)

well yea u right
at party's pioner rulles
but still for his name and not fot his preformance
pioner won the market with cdj100
but cdj100's time is over with making big name for pioneer company
this time all "smaller" companies developed good systems
and sure u'll be pioneer fan if u never heard or touched other players
anyway i think cdj100/500 djm 500 and all this old shit is worthless to buy novadays
dmp-555 on the other hand is new age of players
its 100% digital
working with S-cards (rio) read mp3's...
its looks like monster
but still when it will arrive to israel it sure will coast like 10.000 nis for unit (like pioneer likes to do)
but there is a good and quality cd players on market
i suggest u to check american dj's players (proscratch 1-2)
numark axis-8 is monster too
u dont need to pay tons of money to get quality
