What I heard/read is that Behringer stuff is real garbage.
In the store they told me 25 % of all Behringer stuff go dead within 1 year.

i have a dx626
the bpm counters work ... sometimes
usually it shows 160 bpm....
i say behringer is value for money .. at least for beginners           If Pac-Man affected us as kids,we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music ..

Yeah. Behringer is pretty good value for money in some ways, (hell, i own at least 7 Berhinger products) but DJ mixers require precise and high quality componentry to do their job properly. What you look for in a DJ mixer is not the amount of features, but high performance, pristene performance EQ's and usable crossfader curves, as well as general mixer quality.

Behringer does NOT deliver that quality.

Behringer do however manage to fluke some of their products, (reference mics, older Eurorack desks, FOH system management controllers etc) and occasionally you find a peice of Behringer gear that works well and is of good quality. But VERY rarely.

Basically, most Behringer DJ mixers are really shit.

And I have used a few.

I own a Behringer DX1000 club installation DJ mixer, and it has an AMAZING amount of features for the price (i paid AUS $350 NEW!), here are some of them...

Adjstable subwoofer cross-over frequency, adjustable voice-over gate dynamics, inserts on preamp channels, punch & kill buttons, remote control jacks for CDJs, switchable crossfader assign on every channel, shitloads of seperate zone outputs, switchable PFL-main-split headphone mix, 5 line inputs, 2 preamp channels with jack and XLR connections and inserts (7 channels in total), 3 grounding posts, 4 phono preamps, FX send & return, bass EQ kill switches, 100mm faders, 12v lamp socket, RCA, XLR and jack outputs for zone, monitor and main, etc etc...

I have just rattled off a number of features off the top of my head that should equate to a very flexible and feature packed mixer, which it does.

However there are 2 things that keep me from taking this mixer to a gig.
Firstly, the EQ's are fucking crap. Secondly, the crossfader curve is fucking crap, and not adjustable.

Its a shame that these 2 very important oversights are stopping me from using an incredably feature packed mixer. Because basically, for all its wonders, it sounds like absolute shit, and the low quality crossfader makes it completely useless!

Anyway i'm rambling on ridiculusly, so i will finish by saying that its ALWAYS worth paying a bit more for quality! Avoid the "B" word.......

(Sorry to my many ever faithful peices of Behringer gear lol )

Oh and BPM counters? Pointless. Don't let that even come into the picture cloud your judgement on what to buy. Seriously, you DON'T (and shouldnt) need them! And they dont even work! Anyone who actually relies on them should stop DJing imo!

I've heard that the behringer mixer bpm counters are pretty bad..I wouldn't get used to one anyway, it's better to mix with your ears..

I own a Behringer DX 626, and while the soundquality of course isn't the best (and the BPM-counter is worthless, but who needs it anyways…), it is certainly the best value you can get for your money for beginners and practicing at home. Mine has lasted for over 1˝ year so far, but also only cost me around 100€.

My advice: when starting out, don't go out spending loads of money for expensive high-end mixers.
