Comfortably numb is indeed something.
Oh, TO RON, IF you WANT pink floyd guitar sounds, BUY the album called "dark side of the moon" while you are in store listen to tracks 2-3. Track 2 is actually ?"trance"? The guitar melody in track 3(i think) just brings tears to your eyes. But like trance this album requires effort, you might not like it from the first time. I remember i heard it a few(2-3) times, 3 months ago, than it just was in my drower, and then one day in a car, they put in this CD and i was <AMAZED>. Enjoy. (u will).

Floyd rule... They are probably my favorite non-100%-electronic act ever (well, up to the point where Waters left).
Any Colour You Like is one of the more emotionally uplifting pieces ever, with one of the most enveloping harmonies ever (if you point to a specific melody/part you miss the entire point of it)... And is probably my favorite overall.
The only other acts that I even dare to mention in the same sentance as Floyd are Ozric Tentacles (they know! YES!), The Doors and Bob Dylan for their lyrics (the way they work with 3 levels at the same time - literal/metaphorical/drugs - just blows my mind away), and Hendrix (the GOD of the electric guitar).
Of course, I'm not counting the ambient artists even though they sometimes work on similar wavelengths as Pink Floyd at times (especially in chill-out), but only the cream of the crop can match Floyd's intensity of emotion (and even then not always). |

pink floyd is indeed one of the greatest psychadelic groups ever and my all-time favorite as well . i think anyone who`s into psychadelic music should at least hear them even if heshe is not into rock. viva la pink floyd!!!!!
and of course respect to ozric
( tentacles that is) too, their amazing.
the lunatic is my head......
anybody seen a doctor around maybe?
p.s
one of my pink floyd favorites which hasn`t been mentioned here yet is `the trial` from the wall album. great one (one of many).
