Since offtopic is down and i count Pink Floyd as one of the best psychadelic music producers ever ive allowed myself to place a thread with their name.
I know most of thier more "commercial" sorta speak stuff like "dark side of the moon" or "wish you were here" "the wall" etc'
What i was wondering about are the less popular albums, i need recommondations, ive got ummagumma and meddle (and the piper at the gates of dawn somewhere) aswell as others but im sure there are many i missed.
Feel free to throw away ur favourite albums with a short description if you will.
Thx ahead, Gil aka sambusak aka stoned (or something) ;))) |

I have 2 albums, one is "music from the film "MORE", which is quite alright - more rock than psy, with some interesting tracks - and the other is "animals", which is kinda weird, but i've listened to it A LOT (-> i like it very much). Further description: its 100% pink floyd!
hope i helped. |

atom Heart Mother- one of the most psychedelic music pieces ever made. Also check their live at pompey video for real good psychedelia. |

the pompey live act is taken from "meddle with echoes" album, one of their best indeed. The most psychodelic? Umma Gumma inho, although it's really hard to decide. |

Pink Floyd on a psychedelity rate:
Atom Heart Mother Umma Gumma live at Pompey (which has more than just Meddle) and is way more psychedelic than the Meddle CD. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn A Saucerful of Secrets Meddle
Also i really like Obscured by Clouds- great chilling one.
RTTS!
And if you wanna hear the first electronic trance tune, pick up The Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl and play the first 2 tracks on 45rpm.

ahhh, something interesting at last :-) Gil, i don't think you can call any of Pink's albums commercial when its nearly 20 years since (well maybe the wall is a little :-) ). its like calling Mozart commercial. There are several artists which I (imho) consider true genius: those who made a real change and affected the way we understand music. i consider many of them psychadelic enough. Pink Floyd are one of those, where every album is a masterpiece. besides the albums mentioned i would like to mention also "the final cut" which i don't know if you could call psychadelic but still.. just of a few days ago was a "30-years" day to the death of Jim Morrison and his music (and the doors') is imo psychadelic also.
If you'd like to hear some more of this type i really recommend Frank zappa (and i think you already know of zeppelin :-) )
bye bye |

Dear Alon, what i meant was not "commercial" as you would reffer today for coca cola, or sony, i was meaning the more known pieces, i honestly dont think of pink floyd as commercialprofit music producers.
Regarding ZappaL.ZMorrison and teh Doors and the others i love thier music, i love psyprogrresive rock and i reccomand anyone in our scene to try those.
Bom and good week, Gil. |

And for Ron, Try comfortably numb in "The Wall" (i beilive its in the second cd), its a beutiful beutiful song and has one of the most overwhelming guitar solos i know of. Dark side of the moon has some kewl tunes too (into the sun) and atom heart mother is full of guitars and melodies :) |
