photoshop problem

hello 
i use photoshop 7.0
i got this problem, everytime when i start it loads up everything until it comes to initializing, there it stops and comes a msg
'THIS PROGRAM HAS USED AN ILLEGAL PROCEDURE IN USER.EXE'
and it closes down..
i have tried reinstalling it but the same thing!
is that some virus.. i checked it with my virus scan software it says its fine..
please help!!!

i'll have to contact the super killer sofware engineers to sort out the problem, thank you both for reminding me my photoshop is an outlawed program

I think it would be best to ask this in the Adobe support forums as your thread is little trance art related (and the replies won't get you far)
just a small selection of possible causes:
-conflicting software
-some registry keys that stay behind even -after a fresh install of photoshop
-virtual memory issues
-corrupt fonts
-corrupt plugins (have you installed any straight away?)
etc etc...

@Rik thought i'd ask those who use photoshop here to create trance art..
thank you all, the engineer i called fixed it and i am on track again!!!
it was something to do with the memory!!!
