It's a shame I had to leave when it was just getting fired up (around 4am)

Oh man what a party this was. A very nice turn out overall.

I'm truly honored and humbled to have been a part of this.

Much love to all the crews and artists and hands that made this a possibility.

The Gingerbread House is by far one of the cleanest, nicest venues I've ever partied @. And boy the acoustics were stellar in all 3 rooms! The deco, the visuals, the sound, EVERYTHING WAS TOP-NOTCH. I'd say there was ATLEAST 70k of sound packed into that place! AMAZING!

Long Live Electronica! Long Live Phoenix Family, Full Circle, Geomagnetic.tv, and Raw Heaven!

We truly have something special! Blessed indeed!

Thank you all again,
Johann

Personally I disagree about the acoustics and sound. I thought it was quite terrible in the main room. Suggestions for future use:
1) Do not use a quad set-up. It bounces off of everything, kills the sweet spot, and kills the stereo imaging.
2) Do not use such a large sound system in such a small indoor spot. If you subtracted the rear speakers and added nothing to the front, you would have had perfect amplitude vs. acoustical balance.
3) It might be worth investing some effort in carpeting the floors with some rugs or somesuch when we throw a party there. Mad sound bouncing off the floor.
4)Tapestries over the speakers would help make the highs less bright and piercing.

As for the music, I thought Monks of Madness were great, and Mubali played true drippy forest madness in a brand of funkadelica that only he can muster through aural blasts.

imma noob don't listen to me >< haha.

i heard some sound bouncing around in the main room too but overall i thought the sound was NIOCE... but then again i spent most of my time upstairs :/

and u're absolutely right about having tapestries over the speakers. works like a charm.

MoM was truly a feat indeed. And it's a shame I missed MuFarley's set. *tear*

I have to agree with dog.... i kept searching for a balanced sound spot all night examining different areas but there was too much of something in ever single spot....as for the carpeting idea, not too practical considering the circumstances.... but i do appreciate this crew's work to throw this. what was the story with the bar anyway?

Yep. Me and Ross spent a while trying to get the system sounding decent a few hours before the party started, and I left out of frustration (and I was hungry). It was a losing battle. Without serious dampening or system reconfiguration there was not much we could do. John and Liam left us with access to the main system EQ, but like I said, without changing the space itself or reconfiguring the system.....ummmm....well...

(for you techies out there we had 3K down nearly 3db and 8K down about that much. Putting tapestries in front of the speakers would have done practically nothing....that is a myth.)

The room is just WAYYYYY to bright and reflective. Like stupid bright and reflective.

However, the party was awesome, the vibe was great, and the space itself is great....just not the acoustics.

awesome event, great vibes, great turnout!

the sound was a bit echo-ey, hard to decipher all the frequencies, especially when the music got more complex....but overall Ive heard alot worse at other events that tried quad sound.

thanx to all the crew for making this happen!

Wow, what a time we had. This event was a collaberation between 4 collective unites uniting under one banner. I want to thank everyone who came out early to help deco the place, all the acts, you kick ass, and to John and Liam for bringing the soundsystem. To all the dancers, your the best. Tony from Eyesmind, amazing visuals. And to Tony for the strechy fabric. Thanks to RawHeaven and Tiedyed Andy for the support in the other rooms. And last but not least, to Dr.Spook for being the instegator for 3 rooms. Blessed!

i definitely had a blast, just as great of an event as last year. the new collab between rob and random was great, mubz new stuff is rocking (the new basslines are fat and chunky, good shit!), rich and spook rocked it proper as always.

and a nice surprise, was goldilocks. she was pulling some nice opening set material, got the place warmed up really well.

thanks again to all the dancers that enjoyed our set and the coordinators and generous individuals that set up the venue, deco and sound. i love SF!!!           We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

OH DEAR GOD, I can't believe I missed this!!! I've been looking for psytrance parties ever since I moved to the bay, and I missed one right under my nose. Not to mention, I went to Tonal at the Gingerbread the weekend before this event

... There was Goa too. The next time I hear Goa on massive speakers may be never :'(

WOW!!! I haven't been to a single party that has played Goa. In LA it's all full-on and progressive. You sir, are a godsend. I approve of you and your cat with the fruit on its head, and I hope you have a damn good day!
