hey, well, thought i'd make this thread for people from Philadelphia, and the surrounding areas to post up some replies, so we can see who's from the area and maybe connect and share party info.
well, I'm from Philadelphia, PA. I myself dont know much bout the local scene, I travel abroad, usually to NYC, I occasionally will find myself at Shampoo, which is ok. I also hang out around The Pod, a sushi lounge that plays a variety of electronic genres.

have you heard of Gaian Mind? they have been throwing trance parties in Philly for ages, including the yearly Gaian Mind Summer Festival

west philly represent!! 
if i party anywhere in philly its either five spot or club 27 or some other place in olde city... dont really like the normal party scene anymore... cant handle it and its kinda whack now... i usually get pissed and wanna beat up most the guys too cuz grinding is NOT dancing and i HATE that!!! its not nice taking advantage of girls when they not looking...
sorry, just a little venting on my part... he he. dont gotta worry about that in the psy scene cuz all u'll get is a big smile and hello from the (sexy) dudes... dont hafta watch ur back all the time... and i tooootaally love that!!

yo i live like 4 blocks from pod. its a pretty wacky place. a bitt too expensive though.
for partying i usually go to nyc except for the occasional www.gaian-mind.com weekly or www.am-psy.com party. but there is some awesome dnb here if your into that. platinum at fluid(the best club in philly imho) is a pretty intense drum n bass party. also lounge 125, an afterhours spot that pretends to be a social club so is open till 330 has some great deephouse on fri night if your into that thing(i persoanlly need a lot of beer to enjoy it but hey) my friends tell me its great.
anyway, west philly represent.

i live in philly too. 
living in this city can get a bit frustrating sometimes, i supppose. we are a big city, but often overshadowed because of our close proximity to NYC and DC. as far as the psy scene goes, gaian mind provides the much needed monthly dance outlet. and theres also the pine barrens parties close by. i occassionaly make a jaunt up to NYC for some of the parties with the bigger names. i would like to go to the etnica/juvenile party on saturday, but its currently finals week and i've got too many papers to write. dang it.. but i'm really psyched for the gaian mind festival coming up. i just ordered my ticket the other day. man, i really want to go to the omnidancefest as well, but it might not be in budget.
other than psy trance events in philly, i will sometimes make it out to d'n'b shows and concerts, but thats pretty much it. the jam on the river festival (www.jamontheriver.com)looks pretty cool this year, so i'll def be there.
anways, cheers from south philly!

yea, Im def interested in the jam on the river fest, and omnidancefest i might make an attempt to go to, and for gaianmind, yea, i def need to stop there a sometime or another.
I've never been to Platinum, but i've heard only good things about it, and Club 27, Five Spot, and Lounge 125...thats all new for me
The pod is a bit pricey, but thats like a every saturday night thing for me and a few friends. We tend to split the entrees of sushi and concieve a small portion of each serving, while enjoying the atmosphere.
where do you all buy your records at? I just do it over the net, but occasionally if I'm down in South St. I stop by Digital Ferret or 6-11 (is that the name of the place...forgot), also I favor the Market of Sound...or Sound of Market shop down in China down, lots of cds, at a cheepo price!
well, hope to see you all at some parties or clubs around here, I myself am from Bucks County, PA (where "Signs" was filmed), yea, I said I was from Philadelphia, but i was just generalizing, hehe
