Alternating between the blast-attire of night and day, our 360-degree outlook on contemporary electronic music entertainment takes the guise of PHASE III: ETNICANET’s festive al-centred character is accompanied with the clubby hues of trance, focusing both on the night-time nuances as well as the sun-spelled mayhem of these dance-inducing beats.
Besprinkled with musical memory from the fluorostani years, the legendary CHAKRA & EDI MIS classic (Monkey Mix) is imbued with new shades of sound, which, in the creative hands of Aki, amount to the sublime X-FILE Species Remix. As one of the most innovative bands out there, Aki and Eli surpass the standards promised in their globally acclaimed debut Album (Groove Don’t Come Easy – ET 014), coupling classic
leads and epic riffs into modern engineering standards and pure groove.
Another sonic refinery from Max and Mauri (ETNICA) follows on the blasting trails of their globally acclaimed sixth album ‘SHARP’ (Solstice Records) and the excellent single ‘CHECKER FLAG’ (which features in SONY PLAYSTATION’S GRAN TURISMO 4). Their PLEIADIANS project in all its trademark elegance presents ‘SPACE ODYSSEY’: an abundant array of inter-stellar details and almost impalpable transparencies incessantly ignite the works of this groove-laden, multi-layered dance-floor reliability.
A multitude of spicy tones slinks across the audio spectrum in a playful allure of crescendos and climaxes in SHANTI & THE EROTISER’s slick ‘LIKE A MOTHER’. Adorned by new wave electro-elements that you’ll recognize (and dance to) with pleasure, this is an excellent example of an unbounded approach to eclectic sound
design, with the solid Juvenile quality and our very own cohort: BLC!
French trio BIOTONIC have been setting dancefloors on fire from Mt. Fuji to Paris, and are receiving incredible feedback for their new album ‘DIVINA’. INSIDE YOU (BLACK SERIES PT.1) boasts their trademark, synth-induced dancefloor chaos and is filled to the core with the inebriating, jiggy essence of well-executed ‘killer trax’.
Pan Papason contributes 2 blasting tracks from his solo project P.A.N. in collaboration with Swedish producer FILTERIA, whose evocative melodic hues reflect influences from the cream of GoaTrance, and the UNISON project (featured already on PHASE II). ‘SLIP WITH ME’ and ‘PSYCHEDELIC NON-STOP’ are driven by curvaceous bass momentum and incessantly arising inertia, reflecting his rapidly-evolving sound and the
positive influences enjoyed via diverse collaborations and having appeared throughout the world as a DJ since the beginning of the global trance phenomenon.
London-based duo COMPRESSOR (James & Daniel, previously known as HYPERION) impress with their funkyand irresistibly danceable ‘MUMBLE BEE’, as well as their collaboration vs. PREDATORS - storming Greek act to keep an eye on! ‘NOT RESPONDING’ with its aggressive craze will render dancefloors happyleptic worldwide
for many parties to come!
We finish off with PROSPER (Nikolas, aka MANIBUS) from Belgrade, who boasts a successful string of releases on ZMA and other labels since 2003, and has been active as a dj since 1999. His ‘SOUNDBUSTER’ is a solid floor filler packed with fresh energy and sets the standards for this very promising young producer.
