Phacelift is the solo project of Kostas Alekoglou, who is 27 years old. He is UK-based and has been making music for the past 8 years. Kostas together with Chris (Igneous Sauria) once formed Magus- a project, which made quite an impression in the scene with their dark underground sound.
They made several releases on different labels worldwide (Flow, Creamcrop, Databass, Resonoise, Uphonic, Digital Psionics) but never released an album. Meanwhile, Kostas has been DJing at big parties and festivals all over the world in countries such as UK, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Israel, Russia, Germany, Portugal, Denmark and Greece.
He also created three solo projects- Phacelift, Muthafunskter and Skizofrenic Society composing in different dance music styles. Since Magus split, Kostas has been constantly improving his music production quality and exploring new diversifying dimensions in his music.
In his constant quest for the 'new' sound, in his Phacelift project he created a hybrid of progressive psy trance, mainly influenced by the European techno scene in France and the minimal workings of the Swiss and Danish underground.
After many years of hard work he offers something fresh and different with his debut album “The Path of Pathos”. Eight out of the nine tracks are previously unreleased, with “The New U” track appearing also on the V.A- Candy compilation (CDCF04).
The album takes you on a special journey that starts off with morning melodic groovy techno-trance tracks, it then moves on to darker and deeper techno-trance tracks and finishes off in a funkier style. Intelligent Groovy Psy Trance music with a progressive touch, also combining the clever use of samples and melodies.
