...so me and my friends from stoke (that is stoke on trent, not stoke newington, for all those london based ppl), decided to rock on over to this squat party after AP. Basically we had all had a fantastic time earlier in the night and were not ready to call it quits quite yet!!!!
This party just got better and better as it proceeded. At first I was confronted by a scene of destruction as we clambered over broken concrete and masonry then climbed some rusted iron steps to the top of this building in a derelict chemical factory. In fact we were all a bit bemused as to the place's original function as it seemed to contain a gym and classrooms. Perhaps for the children of the workers slaving in the factory in bygone days. Oh well enough speculation.
PD was DJing when we arrived and so I knew I was at a psychedelic party and the relief was great. Of course the sound system was a notch down after astral phoenix... but it was bearable. Then astralex who i suddenly remembered Id seen at the dream temple a while back. Ok my memory is a bit hazy of this point so moving on:
Next we had Kristian who was playing all sorts of stuff starting with Floor asignment - enter domestos or balojax i forget (cos PD and astralex had both been down this dark road). He then moved into more fullon material. Also there is this unreleased Aphid Moon tune he played which I _really_ like. It has synth stabs which sound a bit like in the old Batman tv show (IIRC). It is a unique tune and totally ace. Also a high quality Fatali tune.
After Kristian's set some of us started to move outside to this concrete patio area (patio is a VERY kind word for it.. actually it was some kind of large loading area next to a canal). The sun was beaming down. We were grumbling that they should move the sound outside..... but there had been issues with the police earlier. [Actually the police had just gone away again happily].
Wellllll after a few hours (maybe 10am?) the sound WAS moved outside, and some of us started dancing around! (me, my friends from stoke, kwali, and a few others:) The music got slowly better, and by 5pm we had some very very enjoyable progressive and clever fullon stuff. One tune I really like turned out to be unreleased Sub 6, but I didnt get the name (ggrrr). Ok the mixing at this point was pants, but you cant have everything.
So I think of this as an outside party, mainly.
We finally left just before the sun went down. I was a little bit tired, to be completely honest with you, but I felt that it wasnt really possible to extract any more enjoyment from the previous 24 hours hehe:)
