about performing:
that will come once you start releasing some music and making a name for yourself, the demand will come for your live show. or perhaps in your local scene you can play a live to see how it goes. you would "get sets" by making good or "sellable" music (lets not go into whats better/sells more discussion, you all know what i mean).
about performance:
i think what simon does is the best and max a single performer can do live: quoting Colin: "...in his Hallucinogen sets he works with multi-tracked audio from hard-disk (24 tracks, I think) plus a laptop, synths and FX. "
when you get to 2 people, i like the involvment of live drums, like psysex do.
when there is more, i think no trance act does it like sunproject, very cool show to watch.
