I guess you already have the Antares
Have you tried The TAL - tube, free one  Also
Tubelimit in the Tbt plugin pack...
Also the Blue tube bundle, BT Driver...
I dont know many VST tubes and not any Tube distorters at all...
I dont think i ever tried a tube distorter.. can you point me to some free ones hehe for real...

to give punch + maintain quality and clarity of sound I think the best way is a compressor configured correctly, in my experience the tubes Tend to smudge the sharpness of a sound..

No lol if I wanted to know what r the best compressors I would of said so... Compressors can also fuk up the dynamic range...
I'm talkin about pre-amps, tube destortion in genral for kick n bass NOT compression

bootsy booteq mk2 this one is free and one of the best plugin imo ,not sure its what your looking for but for color it s the only one i tried that wowed me with nebula, just love the sound ! |

On kick and bass percificly? Yeh man sum tube on kb really gives the lows so much warmth it's unreal..I think it will be a must have everytime.. Cheers for help lads

You say along with nebula? I've got nebular also, never used it in the chain with sum preamp drive, before or after in the chain?

+1 for tube distortion on the kick and bass subgroup, although never say never... just 'almost never'. Tube compression though can help to gel the sounds if you only use just a little bit, like 3dB on blue Antares tube. I don't use it myself, I get my kick and bass warmth from a Focusrite Compounder
