A1 Perfect Stranger & Pena - Ode Ao Sol (Moonbeam Remix)
B1 Perfect Stranger & Pena - Ode Ao Sol (Stephan Hinz Remix)
B2 Perfect Stranger & Pena - Ode Ao Sol (Shuma Remix)

The Czech Beef Records presents us here 3 remixes to one of the biggest hits of last year by 3 artists who are a bit of strangers to the Psy Trance scene which assures us interesting interpretations of the original tune.

The first remix is by the Russian Moonbeam brothers who seem to be on fire recently with a string of really sweet releases on various minimal labels. Their remix of Ode Ae Sol has their trademark sound and they deliver here a great work, no doubt about it. I find their bass sound a bit too menacing but I guess it's only me.

Stephen Hinz is a name I haven't heard before and he brings us Electroish remix. It's a nice one although I'm sure that people who're into that sound would appreciate it more than me.

Shuma, the Croatian duo brings us very funky and dry remix with some small hints of the original track. I have seen those guys live last year and they have very interesting and unique music in their sleeve. This remix doesn't disappoint and does the job.

Conclusion: If you like the original tune and want to hear quite radical interpretations of it than go ahead. It's already breaking the charts on Beatport.

8/10

Moonbeam is the best one here - a really good remix, although the theme from the original is a bit too stripped down. I would have preferred a longer version

Good release overall.

I'm actually a bit disappointed by this release. I expected more.

IMHO the Moonbeam mix is way to superficial, like basically everything Moonbeam does. All of their tracks I have heard so far have very good ideas sometimes, but they all lack depth and execution. Something always throws me off about their tracks. It's like fast food, it looks flashy and tastes goods at first bite, but then it leaves you unsatisfied and hungry for something real.

The Hinz mix is not my cup of tea, and the Shuma mix is my favorite. It's not super-great either, but the more I listen to it the more I like. They went for a dry, choppy and stripped down old school sounds, and it's not bad. Definitely different and it grew on me.

But, the original is still king, no doubt about it.           Check out my album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/gay-satanic-hippie-tiefenrausch

I think the name of the track is Ode Ao Sol and not Ode Ae Sol, which means singing through poetry to the sun, pray the sun.

By the way the original is the best one no matter what
