Artist: Perfect Stranger
Title: Clear Vision 07 EP
Label: Iboga Digital
Format: Digital EP
Catalog: IbogaDigital37
Release date: September 2008
Tracklist:
1. Clear Vision 07 (original mix)
2. Clear Vision 07 (Fiord remix)
3. What's the line up?
Yuli Fershtat is an immense artist whose curriculum vitae includes 5 albums, 2 compilations and countless releases at well established labels, including his home label Iboga rec. His constant evolution in music writing and artistry has earned him the respect and consideration of fellow musicians and demanding crowds who know that dancing is also a matter of the heart.
1. Clear Vision 07 (Original mix)
Clear Vision builds a more than 3 mn progression before the track launches a solid backing bassline that chugs along and eventually picks up a nasty distortion. An ominous voice sample, taken from “7 Years in Tibet”, treated with reverb, flirts with a plain melody that oscilates between candor and sarcasm. In that respect this construction somewhat reminds us of the recently released BLT track remixed by A Balter. As you might expect, precise detailed production is de rigueur, as well as a unique atmosphere with a discreet techy influence.
2. Clear Vision 07 (Fiord rmx)
The rmx signed by Kiwi fames Hayden & Barton Strom gives the seminal piece an even deeper, darker edge. The tortured Brad Pitt voice sample gives you the creeps this time and the exquisite layers of sounds and construction all conspire to torture the brain. Although setting its sights on the mental dimension, the stomping techno beats make it a powerful black sabbath that has already sent up heaps of dust this summer at the Boom festival and that will doubtlessly make more casualties on dancefloors in the months to come. The best Fiord rmx to date, which calls for more. Not to be missed.
3. What’s the line up
A now classic tune from a great vintage year (2005), which proves how a gran reserva ages well. It is also worth noting that his colleague Morax wrote a great rmx, later published on the Perfect Stranger rmx album “Changed”.
Bottom line
This release is worth it for the new Perfect Stranger tracks which make up a great teaser for his up coming CD, scheduled to be another milestone album. My favourite is the Fiord rmx though.

I remember the voice-sample from an old AKD-track as well. Good stuff.
Must say the Fiord guys really impressed me with their deep and throbbing remix. Possibly their best release ever as Fiord in my opinion.

original - intelligent, crispy, glitchy and uplifting. the right stuff for midnight bumping
fiord rmx - deep, atmospheric, groovy stuff for blissful clubish moments. i cant agree it's the best work from fiord, but top sound and arrangements as always |

I agree! The best Fiord track!Reminds me a lot some vibes from Lull album (the only album I liked from Antix)
Clear Vision is my favourite BLT track! And now mr Yuli revisited it with the modern sound successfuly!Probably the best Iboga release since they have joined the clubbier sound.Tracks with results!

Clear Vision is also one of my favorite BLT tracks and the new remixes are great. Yuli's own is one I've had the chance to dance too a few times and I know it for quite a while. I just love it. The Fiord remix is best described as Massive.
