I am new starter on cubase sx2 and i have been experimenting with kick, bass, samples and vst's. i looked on FAQ for info and have read a couple of tutorials but would like some advice of how and when to position high hats, off hats, snares, toms and drums and basically how to create your percussion.
If any one could give info it would be greatly respected.
peace..

You can position them wherever you want.

But, if you are trying to get a specific rhythm like one you heard in some track you like, why not just listen that track and write down where they are positioned?

You can even just slow the track down so you can hear it better.

the only advice is that there isnt any advice. sometimes you have to work on things until you understand them and no one is able to tell you because it must grow in yourself.

some hints for you:

- deadnotes / ghostnotes
- elmshorn releases
- natural drums listening

and now, if you mean it seriously: 24 hours, 7 days.
