Hi there
ok i know that are many ways to make a good trance percussion combination but i am trying to do it and it seems to be a little slow...
i am using closed hihats, open hihats and snare.
I need to know some positions to hihats and snare to make a full-on percussion.
Can anyone help please ?

Thanks

Is this what you mean? Obviously you'll need to tweak and adjust it if you want *good* percussion, but this ought to give you some place to start from. (the closed/open hihat pattern probably won't sound very good as I made it up, but the rest seems to be the common percussion pattern).

k___k___k___k___
bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
__h___h___h___h_
cco co ccccco c ooco
tttttttttttttttt
____s_______s___

k - kick
b - bass
h - brassy hihat (the kind that goes "PSST!")
c - closed hihat
o - open hihat
t - tambs
s - snare

hey babba .. take your time .. making good rithm is not in days that u made them !!! ... and to make a rithm is not only snares hithats and open and closed ... u have lots of outher intruments to use ..
dont make like fuzzykiten said .. ( fuzzi this is not against u ... ) but its the rithm u see in almost overall artist use ... so variat !! ..

start adding the normal ones .. open hat .. closed hat .. open snare .. closed snare ..
then put some diference snare ( i dont know the name in english .. but in portuguese the names are .. tarolas , congas .. cymbals .. if there is someone from portugal that can't translat does i apreciate it ... well returning to the subject .. u take does samples tarolas , congas .. cymbals in separated channels .. Add them some delay .. and work a bit on the rithm .. not to many notes and steps .. because of the delay .. and u will see some diference

and attention .. when u talk about open hat closed hat open snare etc ...
when u are making music .. u need to EQ until u get a freq that match all does .. perfectlhy ...

open hat + closed hat + open snare + closed snare * kick .. they need to feel each one on the outhers .. even if each one are in separated armonys/sonoritys .. they just need to be in the same vibe with the same taste ..it means .. they need to be sinched in the freq that u hear ..
ps . all the sample need that eheheh .. but attention more to this ones .. they are the ones that most of the time u hear more

try to make does steps they might help u a bit

No worries, you are correct!

Babba - DarkPsy is correct, please explore that basic rhythm and think of it as a starting point.

I put it up so that you don't have to waste your energy figuring out how to make the basic rhythm - please take that energy and explore your own rhythms though.

Help keep the innovation moving!

peace,

-Alex
