Some say we already reached peak oil others that is very very near. The moment when consumption becomes bigger than production will be a turning point in modern life, and for sure a very important moment in human history.
Oil prices will skyrocket, life as we know it will end very very fast: energy, agriculture and transport all will decline.
Its an apocalypsis waiting for us? or its the chance we have to make a huge shift in how we manage resources?
It will make us to make the big step forward in technology, science and conciusness or we will fall in to a new dark age (as in Mad Max)?

i really dont think neone with a bit of common sense cannot argue bout peak oil it's already here & we'll see many things in the near future which will all be direct or indirect results of Peak Oil (i mean wars & occupation)

i think theres too much oil and its we are being artificially being fooled into believing that there is a shortage..simple demand supply economics..i mean its been two months and the most powerful country in the world cannot stop the flow oil from ONE measley little oil well?? tells you something about how something so abundant can be presented as a shortage--oh i love capitalism and fear mongering...i think i should try my hands at a cultural revolution where everyone must wear pink polka dot pants to work and bright yellow shirts with green ties and purple jackets everyday..why because i can package fear in box called hope

there's enough oil for the time being, and when there isn't there's natural gas.
just fyi the efficiency of gas & diesel engines are about 45 - 55 % . petroleum of course is highly refined (note that takes energy too) ... so eventually the efficiency boils down to the same amount.
what's going to change things is not oil shortage but an increased efficiency of other sources of power. hi tech solar units just about hit 15%. wind efficiency is sometimes higher than oil but the capital is massive & setup is geographically limited.
when funding & research catches up with the game is when it will change, but as long as a countries government is eating from the hands of the oil industry this process will be dragged on.
privatization of the power grid was a solution but examples proved that big corporations were as susceptible to corruption as the government. the issue lies in the way the economy is set up in the first place... the way society progresses... our viral lifestyles. changing that is a gargantuan effort.
so for now best we can do is go with the flow and be a good citizen of planet earth. be aware of your own impact. if you want to make a change start at the micro level.
a point about the above sentence... i know this is the truth, but it's still something i need to work towards and remind myself on a very regular basis.

i dont know bout u guys but i like to keep my eyes open when i'm driving a vehicle on the road ahead & i don't think it's too hard to see a ditch ahead & when i see a ditch i either avoid it by turning away or slowing my speed so as to minimize the damage.
& humanity on the other hand is jus speeding up in every aspects of the word
i'm really not a gud debater & not gifted to put my point across very well so i like when time decides who was right & who was not
jus a bet for the sake of it we r heading for an oil shock before 2015.

thats why you are driving a car and your not being chaufered in a cadilac by an entourage of 20+ security vehicles, on land and aerial and protected by an aersnal of 30k+ nukes..and if something like an "accident" were to happen to you in that cadilac,
even in your wildest imagination..there would be no fly zone instantly..
he's one, your one- he's being driven, your driving..now tell me are you really driving with your eyes open?--and even if your eyes open some other senses are shut..so you may miss pot hole but you will jump the red light and the god damn cop will bust your ass demand a bribe or a fine..and you will bitch and moan..saying that you were careful and you took all the necessary steps and yet the system failed you..wake up and see the RED LIGHT --ITS GREEN , why you still stopped?
