well i have this akward problem...
2 days ago, i felt like going into some of my old stuff.. maybe remember, maybe use 1 or 2 ideas that i liked... whatever, but it's fun.
Now, the real fun.. i open FL'3' (this is how old stuff we're talking about) and i load some projects. By the time i release, that many of those projects when played within FL get 'spikes', get stuck on several parts, generally many 'ticks', 'flicks', 'blicks' as if the processor or RAM cannot handle all samples and/or pluggins.
History is that those FL projects are made on an amd athlon @ 1400mhz without serious ploblems, maybe one 'flick' or two, but now i'm on a p4 @ 3.0ghz.. ffs!
My 2 guesses are:
1)When i was on 1400mhz i had 512mb of RAM @ 333. Now, on 3ghz, i added 256mb @ 366 and 128 @ 400... probably this is, but i think all three memories sync @ 333, so there should not be any problem, just a total of 896mb of RAM. dunno.
2)Slightest possibility that the processor get overheated 'cause of summer's high temperatures and freaks out (!!!?!?!?).
plz help, because i now have the suspicion that my current pc's limits are way much more than i thought they were.
thank you,
piko.

without beeing shure about this,i thing that the rams must be the same in order to work,i mean 2 x 256,or 2x512.i also know that if the one is at 333 and the other at 400,they synchronized at 333 as u said,so buy 2x512 and solve the prob
as for the temperature,i dont think it can cause disfunction in your pc,at least not yet!although ,i have seen somenoe using a big cooler(anemisthra dwmatiou lol)over his pc in augoust!!!
anywayz good luck
faithfully yours,

The Audigy 2 has ASIO support , but maybe try to update the Creative drivers ...
I have nearly no experience with that card, but also try to set at different buffesizes for the ASIO driver if you can do that in the sound drivers controll panel.
But also be sure to completely check your computer for viruses and/or malware, because once something in the background kills your cputime it will introduce clicks and pops. Also sometimes antivirus software tends to "hang" or use way more cputime / memory than it should(mostyl after a corrupt update over the web). Be sure to check your taskmanagers processlist/load.
Thats all I can think off now.
Hope it will work out for you ! |

of course i use ASIO.
with all Creative, asio4all and kx drivers, happens the exact same thing.
viruses.. i do not have and internet connection at home so every single thing i've gotten from internet has been viruschecked twice. once in the net-cafe and once at home.
as far as the antivirus ware i use, it's 'aVast' which btw is super light.
of course, thanks for the advice, but it still isn't 'it'.
