Following 40% will be the long awaited Artist Album from Paul Taylor – High Life.
Already well known internationally as a DJ with a unique ability to source & play the freshest sounds, Paul’s credentials are well documented. A veteran from the original Goa parties, his DJ sets, contagious humour & general outlook on life soon caught the attention of TIP Records who quickly snapped him up as one of their A&R team /label DJ along with Dimitri & Raja Ram. After two years in the London Tip Office he then relocated to Ibiza where he soon began to co produce music with artists such as Earthling and Shanti. In 2002 joined Spun Records as Ibiza label manager and A&R, compling the very well received Spun Complilation :”Tweakers”.
A regular at most of the biggest events in Europe, South America, Israel, Japan, Paul is one of the most in demand DJ’s around, having made his reputation for playing powerful sets of his own particular style of tech inspired full on , continuously pushing the boundaries of the Psy Trance formula.
His exacting taste and choice of music has led to 5 successful compilation CD’s already on labels such as Crystal Matrix, Spun, Sirius, & Sound Sorcery; all of which have been firm favourites with most of the world’s best DJ’s and played on a myriad of sound systems. His new release is certain to maintain both his profile as one of the most influential DJ’s around and as an artist in his own right.
For High Life, he has collaborated with both well known and emerging artists to deliver an album with a twist. Originally planned to be his sixth V.A compilation, Paul was unable to find ready made tracks that defined what he wanted to say musically, therefore he decided it was time to sit down and make the exact music he considered to be the future sound of the dancefloor; a more minimal approach to full on, that recalls the late nineties tech trance artists such as X Dream, Planet Ben,Organic Noise etc.
The album contains 9 exclusive new tracks, all co-written with Paul, each one a testament to his relentless pursuit of originality & quality. This is genuinely contemporary music for those with discerning taste and a passion for the very freshest material. Several well known artists such as Earthling, PTX, Quantum, Loud & Insomnia are some of Paul’s co conspirators here, and the resulting sounds are completely unique to these dynamic collaborations.
High Life is set for early December 2008 release, and also will be available as an exclusive DJ mix by Paul Taylor later on in the year, on the Kundalini Website.
