Hi, not only am I still rejoicing @ my easy conquest of Ableton, but also I rise to review last weekend's party Highlight, by Respect Gatherings, in nyc usa. Here's my reivew - politics included.
First we were for hours on outdoor patio (creative mixing by Luis Campos). Fun, billowy deco by Global Village in both "rooms." Charles (just met him) plays 2 sets, one as Whiptongue and the other as half of Sychotria (Flavio was not there.) This was half the indoor lineup. :/ Boom Shankar (a Highlight invocation by many sadhus) finished with an electro-y, Talamasca-y set. Although many people were thrilled at Boom Shankar, I was super thrilled @ Charles Whiptongue. Be that as it may I know that 1 things people can PLURrily agree on is the TAZ. @ Paper Box I felt one bouncer overaccosted me; I prefer the nearby House of Yes because I like their speakers better; I don't know who engineered the lame rule against substances, especially with a party of this naame; the VJ projector was in the DJs' eyes. Still, the promoters did a better job than at their previous two parties there, in terms of bringing the fiercest people. Also it was not too crowded, unlike before. All in all, what with the nice, even great music, deco and people it was an awesome 12-hour party. |
