Wow what an amazing 5th birthday party that was! Following a 12 month break Party Proactive rocked hard, we came, we saw and we partied! Our new choice of venue, AREA is clearly the right place for us to throw some fabulous parties and has certainly been given the thumbs up by all you crazy people.
A hop and skip later, we have managed to catch our breath back and are ready to set sail with our 2nd and final party of 2009, Party Proactive presents The Happening on Sat 3rd Oct at AREA.
A dazzling selection of artists composed of international and raw up and coming talent will be gracing the decks spread across three distinctly different rooms. Music ranging from psy trance, techno and hard beats to the ultra cool electro, tribal and minimal sounds in room 2 and 3 and a stunning outdoor terrace to chat, chill and smoke!
To help launch this event and get the ball rolling we are releasing a very limited number of £5 tickets and the price will quickly go up to £12 and £15.
So be quick, put Sat 3rd October in the dairy and get ready to party hard because for the last time this year the Party Proactive circus gets set to roll into town.

7 weeks to go now and its all ticking along very nicely with over a 1/3 of all advance tickets sold out now! That’s over a third of all tickets gone and the party is still 7 weeks to go – quite amazing really!

Mark EG is at the forefront of the UK's new music movement. But he refuses to be labelled. And this sometimes chameleon-like addiction to music has held Mark responsible for some of the most ground breaking releases in the hard techno world over the last few years (The Anxious).
Mark's tastes span back to the early 1980's, through Detroit techno, Chicago house, electro, acid house, hard trance and hard techno. Throughout the years he's become widely acclaimed for his intense stage presence, as well as his outrageous antics behind the decks , spanning several different musical scenes and movements. His most notable achievements have included his massive popularity in the Serbian/Bosnian and Croatian techno scene; his almost cult-like status within the UK hard trance; the near sonic domination of the Canadian rave scene; his infiltration of UKs hard dance scene.
The last few years have also seen Mark playing at some of the biggest outdoor events on the world stage such as Dance Valley, Impulz and Q Dance. And of course theres his recent Blackout Audio FM techno radio show, which took over from Carl Cox on Moscows Megapolis FM last year and is now broadcast nationally in the Ukraine. Its also well documented he was instrumental in the A+R for 90s giant Bonzai Records and edited cult music magazines such as Wax and Eternity.
This is one man who simply lives, eats, sleeps and breathes music.

Party Proactive is FAST approaching and here is a chance to meet with another Party Proactive debut and recent main room guest for SW4 PAUL MADDOX
Paul Maddox – once a hard house newbie producer and DJ, working his way up the ranks. Now, ten years of tinkering at the keyboard later, he’s established himself as one known for intelligent tracks and thoughtful tune selection. All whilst make the dance floor jump of course! From his earliest re-mix of N-Trance ‘Set you Free’he’s gone on to release original tracks, mainly through Tidy for whom he is their in-house producer, and Vicious Circle, but also countless remixes, most notably Ferry Corsten’s ‘Rock Your Body, Rock’, Travel ‘Bulgarian’, Dial M for Moguai ‘Beatbox’, Defective Audio ‘Intoxicating’, Pants & Corset ‘Malice in Wonderland’ and Tomcraft’s ‘Brainwashed’. Whilst these and others have been included on a huge number of compilation CDs from Frantic to The World’s Greatest Hard Dance, Paul’s musical talents are too big to keep in a box. His many alter egos including the slower more chunky tough house of Olive Groove and the more delicate and uplifting Azure have seen him release tracks on Positiva and Data and not only get airplay on Radio 1 but be voted track of the year on Judge Jule’s show. Plus his minimal techno guise as Spektre saw him release a Live at Glade on Tim Sheridan’s Very Very Wrong Indeed label. Where does he find the time in between jetting off for DJ gigs across the world from New Zealand, America, Japan, Norway and Moscow??? Before his set at Party Proactive on the 3 October at Area, we wanted to find out a little more on where he’s at, where here’s been and where’s he’s going to (that’s if he knows of course:)

MEET THE HEADLINERS…
HERTZ
One of the first things that might surprise you about Hertz is that Hertz is no longer Hertz the one man techno fabster but a two man project. The second is the first half of this project, Pierre J (the other being Petter B) has been making internationally acclaimed and commercial dance tracks since the mid nineties. Since the inception of Hertz the name has been side by side with all the leading stars of the genre – Valentino Kanzyani, Axel Karakasis, Marco Nastic, Cave, Ignition Technician and Lars Klein etc. – continuously developing and pushing tough, dirty dance floor techno. Creator of two imprints - tech house Q Records and the influential techno label Sway, Pierre’s credentials are long. Born in the 70s and brought up on the best of the 80s electro synth movement, by 1991 his DJing career was marked by residencies across his native Gothenburg and coming second in the Swedish National DMC DJ Competition. The European and World DMC Championship final followed, his reputation grew and so began the production of chart topping tracks for all the big labels such as Warner, Polygram, EMI, Sony, BMG, Virgin, winning producer of the year in the Swedish Dance Music Awards in 1995 and nominated again in 1997. By 2001 Pierre began moving away from the commercial side of music and began releasing on labels such as Defected, SAW, Primate, Recycled Loops, Zync and of course, his own Sway imprint. Since then tracks including the classic Julia, Big Bang, and Recreate which was The Dance Valley Festival offical tune, kept Hertz at the forefront of the techno scene. But as already mentioned, Hertz truly is a game of two halves. Petter B’s introduction in 2007 to the Hertz mix, having completed numerous releases together, sees Hertz evolve into its second phase of existence. Combining their DJ and production talents creates the perfect partnership, intent on making the kind of tough, intelligent and fun techno that we love at Party Proactive.

JUSTIN ROBERTSON
Justin Robertson's as a dj of 20 years his tastes have always been diverse including techno, house, dancehall and art pop. Justin is a true modernist: he excels as a DJ of international repute; is a creator of bespoke techno; one third of New Pop band Thee Earls, a remixer for the likes of The Whip, Bjork and Felix Da Housecat and, most recently he has written and produced an album called Silent Life. Last year Justin was approached by Harmless records to compile and mix their Art of Acid compilation which was reviewed to universal acclaim in September. It made Mixmag’s top 20 best of 2008. As a DJ Justin continues to play a mix of techno and electronic house at clubs such as The Loft in Barcelona, Pacha in Buenos Aires, Bugged Out in Manchester / London, Shine in Belfast, Chibuku in Liverpool, Together in London, and at various clubs all over Europe and the rest of the world. Alongside Guy Williams, Bones and Ed Chemical Justin formed the Black Rabbit club in 2006 who throw parties across London and Ibiza.
