well, its been a long time since I visited a club for a trance party (winter and all that...) its been a much longer time since I visited 3 clubs in one night - it happend this thursday:
I started at the Macabi Music factory for the Domo party. hopped to the USTA's Dinamo for a bit of Mark Allen's set and then to the Comfort for Shaffel's Exaile release party. let me summerize using my innovative  3 star methog (3=good, 1=bad):
Location:
Domo- the Maccabi Music Factory has as much to do with trance as a an artishok in an omlet- its possible but not tasty. theres a stage and an entrance and 2 bars but absolutly no trance atmosphere. Domo's best intentions cant hide the place's Rock foundation. Having psychedelic music played by a dj standing in front of a Maccabi Beer advertisement does little for the vibe.
USTA- No change in the wheather and absolutly no change in the Dinamo - same smoke, same dimmness, same stupid football crap everywhere (I love football but I dont want to be reminded of Haifa's defeat on the same night...)
Shaffel - the Confort is a nice neutral club- high cieling, no deco so u do what u want and Shaffel certainly did the best for it- minimal but maximal- 3 huge screens with cool exclusive Shaffel vjing and live camera work on top. nice. Ive been to the confort many times and this was deffinatly the best setup for the place i have witnessed.

USTA **
Shaffel ***
PPL and vibe
Domo- about 200/250 really nice trancers, no arsim, room to move and a few nice girls.
Male / Female 70% / 30%
cool and proffesional ganja atmosphere
USTA- about 300. mixed crowd, some arsim, some clubbers, some mitlahavim. not too great of a vibe (i got a feeling that too much powder was distributed). not too beautifull a crowd.
Male / Female 70% / 30%
Shaffel- about 700. full capacity, typical karahana crowd wich means mixed but optemistic, acid party ppl. they got exactly what they came for and made a very energetic atmosphere
really good looking girls
Male / Female 60% / 40%

Music:
Domo-
Paste's DJ set was great, mixing and music. the live I thought was boring. Gula's set was a bit too aggressive for me
USTA - heared about 35 minutes of Mark Allen's set which was a bit boring but the man can mix!
Shaffel - Heared 35 minutes of Exail's live set which was fast and furious but not my cup of tea these days

Sound
DOMO got every free speaker in Tel Aviv into that club and the sound was nice and crisp in the entrance but low on the volume in the stage area
USTA - The dinamo needs a new sound system. The Dinamo has been needing a new sound system for 5 years. it just about lowd enough but it does very little justice to the music. any music.
Shaffel - a few turbo sounds 2gether with the confort's own system did the job - lowd and clear but the place's acustics are not the best - very high celing as previously mentioned makes too much reverb and needs delicate tuning and fidling.

i got "only" to two parties. USTA and DOMO.
USTA - realy litlle bit tire set from Mark Allen and realy no change in nothing.
DOMO - as i said at specific to this party thread was a great dj set from Patrick and Stefan but a litlle boring live act (that maded me walk 2 min till Dinamo).

Amazing review.
I was reading to it and i felt like i was actually there.
I would personally go to the Domo party because i dont like Mark Allen and Exaile is too noisy for me.
Except that i happen to like a lot the Domo crew and i appreciate their efforts for the good of the scene.Some people MUST be rewarded.

exelent review i didnt go to another party exept shaffel one i new this what is going to happen in the city.
when you have all the option from koma,to the domo crow till the dinamo and the tlv the place to be is in shaffel party!!!!!!!!!!!(if you lucky to know about it)
they are not doing every week or tow i understood they are doing now only album releses partys exiale delta, zoo 2 and sach!!!!
so any one been in there free party?? |
