we're very sorry to report some bad news:
we received news last night from parasense that they were not going to make their flights to san francisco as they did not get the visa necessary for travel to the US. they were not denied their visas but the laws that govern the time frame and requirements for these visas changed on august 1st so that the entire process takes longer. specifically: "As of August 1, 2003, all people applying for visas will have to be interviewed at a US Consulate before visas will be issued. It could take WEEKS to
obtain an appointment then another week to have a visa issued."
despite having over a month of lead time, the wait is apparently so long at the moscow embassy that they couldn't get the appointment in time to be interviewed and get their visa issued. here are some of the communications i received from them as d-day approached:
"What we can do ... i try to make war with american embassy , but the sequrity win , so stuped and strong .
Last info i tell you ... "
"I try to do everything , i don`t know why like this , embassy don`t whant to talk with not one ."
"it is unposible for us . After some balagan in America , the embassy change all laws about documents . Now it is two mounth + 450 dollar + copy of your fingers (my fingerprint) .
I realy think this is flip-out , and exaly very sad , but i keep patiance .
Realy sorry , i can`t come . No way to do this fuckin visa , why like this , don`t know . I`m not a terrorist and i not bad guy , i have job , i have my Country and i like be some time in America , why i mast to put my fingers copy , 450 dollars and wait for two mounth ...... Ah ...... Brian , hope you and your friends understand the situation .

good news:
nothing is going to stop us from celebrating 4 years of monthly thump parties this saturday night at the dna lounge. penta is playing a live set AND now a dj set and will bring the russian nu-trance madness to another level (i am so upset right now i've asked nikita to break out the wicked evil night music he got in india this summer and unleash it on the dance floor during his dj set - look out!)
on the production level we've made arrangements to bring in front-loaded mid-bass cabinets to truly pump the bass so we can all feel the thumping of the music as it is supposed to be heard. and as always, dutch has some tricks up his sleeve for visuals and other production touches.
we're going for it saturday night so come celebrate 4 years of consistently top quality international trance acts coming to play for us once a month. since 1999, and including 10 months of t.r.i.p., our record is 78 acts that made it to perform for san francisco no problem, now 3 that haven't. while the news about parasense is disheartening, we shall persevere and penta will bring the juice - come celebrate penta, the last 78 acts that played for us and the next 78 acts to come.  it is going to be a beautiful weekend, let's trance.
we are opening early and we are offering discounted entry on saturday night: $10 from 9-10pm, $15 from 10p-12am, $20 thereafter. i'll post the line-up soon too.
