well i believe so but when your using hithats if you pan one type of hit hats to right and then another type of hithats to the left side when you are hearing on stereo like in phones wont them get unbalanced ??? |

I like to do all my EQing in mono through one speaker before sorting out the panning

Gutter -> Why are you linking to that? It does not contain any info about panning in general.
