its good to keep main things like snare or a big fat loop in center ... other small things like hi hat u can pan ... but try to use 2 different sounds like one hat and one shaker (just example) and pan on different sides to balance the mix . one sound may not be even percussion but sum sound of smiliar frequnecy to the other one . and u can always experiment for sure however u like even wit 2 loops on either side or something its up2 u . |

Sometimes I create various hat layers and pan some of them with Satellite autopanner...
