But you cant center frequencies with this plug... what I really wanted to do. Mono-ize the bass part, and spread those highfreqs!           http://www.myspace.com/fragletrollet

If you can find an EQ plugin that let's you do M/S instead of L/R you can hi-pass the S channel at about 120Hz and add a 1.5dB low shelf boost to the M channel at about 90Hz to compensate for level drop. I can't think of a plugin that will let you do it but I'm sure they must exist, maybe someone else here knows one? It can be done with 3 plugins easily but 1 would definitely be more convenient.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

EQUO on FL Studio.

I also use the Antares Filter VST for that: 1st filter: flat. Other filters: notch on freqs you want to spatialize, pan the filters as you like. you can also add LFO on the pans of each, great FX, I use it in every track :-p

Hey
I need a plugin that can pan/"monoize" / "stereoize" certain frequencies. Like a pad, I want the bass to be in mono.

I have been using a workaround with sending the channels to 2 channels, split it with EQ and and center/widen the stereoimage on the channel with the freqs I want to affect, then send both to a 4th channel to sum.
...wich is a hassle, I just want a simple plug.

I know De la mancha's plugs, but Id love something free... if there is something like it?

idk what u use, but in linux there is this prog called freqtweak, just rout your audio from the bass thru it in whatever GUI you use to control jack and ur set

i use StereoTools from sonalksis mastering suite. maybe not made for single tracks, but the 'zero with below'-button is exactly what you asked i guess...

yes. layering, dividing the freqs in groups and working in M/S mode is definately the best way to make stereo wiiiiideee faaatttt, basslines with centered and focused warm and pumping bottom in mono!

actually, you dont really need a specific vst to do that, just send some signal to an FX channel panned a certain way, insert some EQ to the send and vuwala...in the stero case, you should send to two fx channels - left and right...
