So..i did a search for 'pads' on the forums and found a whopping 6 results.
So why don't we have a thread about pads in goa/psy, info about how to build them, and other crap of that nature.
Infact, i even came to this forum, just for this purpose, to get some knowlage of goa/psy pads and their creation. but ive not found jack...that or i am doing something wrong.

I'm talking about making them for real...not selecting a preset in some big synth. 
All i use is TS404, 3osc and Z3ta...sometimes sytrus, but it eats my CPU.
Come on, i know someone here has this knowlage! Not everyone uses a create-a-pad button. |

 sorry, i couldn't resist.
Long-ass sine wave envelopes on the amp and filter, lots of reverb, TONS of ping pong delay, EQ out the low low stuff, sidechain with the kick.
That's how I do it.

get urself the hartmann neuron and if ur able to let it go get back at me on the forum... but some tips - slow attack and long release, u can also sync a lfo to amplitude to make it chop on beat easy with atmoshepere hehe, synths for pads i like are atmosphere, neuron, rob papen blu, and believe it or not the played out mc505 programmed of course. dude just fuck around with ur synths matrix also try camel space on the pads i love that fucken vst, its my go to plugin in all my songs at least one instance. |

yes rex i also have camel phat, its pretty nasty plugin huh LOL really freakin killer but replicant??? never heard nor obviously used it, whats it like who makes it?
spectron is also kool, but i dont use it as much as i thought i would, but camel space that shit is fresh never fails me, also the matrix in my dave smith evolver is nasty nasty nasty u can route ext signals into it and that thing just farts and squaks like an crack whore no lies... obviously not good for pads but for effx its killer dude!
id also like to recommend antares filter for pads really nice exquisite results from using that plug, happy tweaks peaps!

I do that like Opensourcecode said, however I like using z3ta for pads (actually i really like to work with that synth for everything else also). I turn on 4-6osc with different waveforms with big quantity of modulation parameters +fx.
Also it can interesting to use plugins like Livecut (that distruct sounds a lot), put Livecut's output to delay, turn it's predelay to 0 (leaving only wet signal) then direct the signal to reverb and then use gate. Absolutly weird things can come out from obvious sample - just use the imagination (and compressor hehe)

Stylus also has wonderful results when you change the sample start, add delay and reverse.
Or even without reverse.
Just change the sample-start and the sounds drooooooooone out of the machine.
Atmosphere rocks though for atmos hands down.
Z3ta and albino are also great. |

crystal is dat free plugin right if its the one im thinking off that one rocks big time, isnt made by something oaks??? if so its a keeper i forgot all about it thanks for the reminder its on the top list especially for something
