Why not create them yourself? Once you get hang of it (from dissecting existing patches), it's easy. At least two oscs (not just the standard waveforms!), detune, unison, filtering + probably resonance, modulation (filter, pulsewidth etc.), delay, reverb, chorus, flanger, comb filter & almost any effect you feel like using.
And then suitable chords.
IMO it's far easier to create great original pads than great original leads for psy.

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more. |

Either you make music or u dont.
Put some more effort into it mate! Youll be surprised at what u can do by yourself...
How about using Zeta? check its PAD patches out and tweak them. Thats worth a try... Remember to play with reverb and delay on pads.

My fave pad is to take a sine wave around 800-1400 hzish. Route an LFO to the pitch for slight vibrato and then destroy with a flanger.
Simple things like this can be very effective at beefing up the background of a mix. Most sampled pads will have way much stuff in them to squeeze into a mix, but the fatter they are the better they sell.
Pads can also be made from leads, maybe adding lots of reverb or delay.
Never let some bastard pad crowd your mix! It's nasty! |
