Some new sweetness from the somnia label. Sounds very delicate, and relaxing.
somnia is proud to present an atmospheric and delicate journey through textural dub landscapes and machinistic techno ambience. exquisite sculptures of reverb drenched chords and clicky percussion wind and float their way through hazy electronic vistas.
representing a palette of restrained minimalism and more beat oriented fragment of the somnia aesthetic, this 9 track album establishes p. laoss, a.k.a vakuum sounds (native state records) as a mature and thoughtful designer of intricate dub and digitalia.

Excellent news!
I started listening to the samples, but decided it'd be a waste of time, so I just ordered it.
I have been wondering lately what had become of Somnia. It's great to have them back.
And I noticed as well that all of the previous Somnia releases are now on Addictech in MP3, FLAC and WAV formats. That's more great news!
What a fabulous start to the day! |

Ordered it straight away as I always do with a new Somnia. Should arrive soon. Remix for Evan Marc & Steve Hillage on Dreamtime Resubmerged was an excellent appetizer. Been waiting for the whole album ever since

Arrived yesterday. Very nice overall feel to the album (background listening). Looking forward to giving it an in-depth listen today. |

The samples on somnia sound great. Reminds me of some krill.minima tracks.
Will order it at soon as it becomes available at beatspace.com

Arrived for me yesterday as well. Very quick for international postage.
I had a passive listen last night, whilst I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen. I liked it a lot.
It did kinda remind me of krill.minima in its more sparse moments, and also the Juxta Phona release as well, on the more upbeat tracks.
Overall I thought it shifted nicely between the more ambient pieces (the landscapes?) and the more beat-driven dub-laden tracks (the machines?).
I can't wait to turn it up and have a proper listen (I had it low volume cos my daughter was sleeping).
Another decent release from a damn decent label - which is an understatement on both counts. |
