heya.
can i play my keyboard on a recording mode using the samples (nn-19) in Reason?
Any ideas people? does it even work with an external midi keyboard?
help =]
i must finish this track!!! people say it's really a killer one. and it's only 1.25 long!! as for now... :D |

can you not prgram the melodies using either a piano roll or script then? sorry, dont know, but if the softwares any good then you will be able to. |

Piano roll is best. And believe me, from my experience with trackers playing on a PC keyboard sucks big time. You can't really play it... Hard hitting all those #'s & b's...
And are you talking about good4.mp3? Get a good bass man! :-) |

reason get input usually from a midi in device. so you can always install a midi keyboard emulator. one such emulator is called "virtual piano" [from cakewalk] you'll get really good latency with it, but the problem with it - the keyboard is not perfect[the keyboard buffer is a queue so you can't play accords], and it's not velocity sensitive, so u'll have to draw a lot [velocity, pitchbends, modulations] by hand in the controllers windows.
this is what i used before i bought me a keyboard

Another idea:
Record yourself playing the keyboard in Fruity loop 3 (if you have it), export to midi, import the midi file into the sampler channel in reason. And that's it :-)! |
