Camping + festival at Ozora.
Very peacefull fest. Civilized crowd. No madness at the dance floor even quite lame. Around 2000 ppl with 350 on average on the dance floor at best and most of them not digging in.
Highlight - Memorable Saturday full on set. James Monro was superb. Tristan left in the middle of the set - ear problems so i heard. Gorgo and Tsubi played beautifully as well.
Lowlight - Skazi with a freakshow emarassed himself and IL. Acclaimed the tiltle " i have skazi as reference to having to shit" - 2 much ego and no heart, Star sound orchestra not far ahead - 2 old no power.
Good atmosphere, 2 few ppl 2 pump up the fest and most of them local and young, wish it would have gone differently. Hope the organizers came out well.

There was only one problem: there were no people, no international crowd, just locals. I haven't really understood what was the concept of the festival regarding the visitors. Scarse presale quota for foreigners, redrawal of eastern countries discount; a weekend discount was announced on their official international forum, which turned out (on site only) to be for Hungarians only, travelers from abroad were charged twice as much. . And noone to complain to, because the staff didn't speak a word of English. It somehow makes you feel unwanted...
Never the less, at the end of the summer finally a real festival, carefully decorated and prepared with love, clean, well organized and generally comfortable and friendly (and who needs a lake with such sexy showers). And it seems that the whole setup was prepared for at least twice as much people.
The most important! After being on few »psy« festivals this summer I was used to listen the same sounds for several days (good enough maybe for the first time trance listeners), breaked only with comercial junk. Well, OZORA was not the case. Artist had free hands to play the music (this freedom was abused only by skasi with IMHO boring, agressive but not effective tehno with a »ballsless new metal« guitar).
Well done sets from local DJs expecialy in the night time; Electric Universe – nice surprise, Son Kite - hard and succesfull work to make our last day. It was a hard job to find the time to sleep with good music pounding around the clock.
So I hope the organizers will attract the international psy community next time (2007?), cause I would really like to come again . All the necessary infrastructure, magical location and friendly, nice and a little modest and shy locals (which is great to keep an international colorfull feeling, the Italians for example fill up completly the space, even if not in such majority:) )...
It could easilly become the eastern (or better - continental) Boom surrogate for »long boomless summers«.

Andrej! |

it was a quality festival indeed, i enjoyed it very much.
thanks for the organizers for creating an amazing environment for good vibrations!
my favourites: son kite, james monro,
the labyrinth in the corn field, and the fog in the night. and thanks for peter didjital for being a good stage manager and helping in everything!
so big up to bubble brigade,
and a very big down to the owner of the place for making traps for 'porn, dance and stars'. the owner spread the rumour that 'porn dance' had cancelled just to keep the crowd at his place. porn dance crew have a big loss because of this so i dont think i go to ozora in the future. which is quite sad cuz i really loved it. |

I had a great time. met some amazing people, heard some amazing music - it was a shame the chill area never really took off all weekend, and it was a shame some dj's there were playing non chilled music (surely it's a place to go and escape the 4 to the floor for a bit), a fantastic location seen to it's full dramatic beauty during the huge electrical storm on the last night. Hungary was great, it all added up to be my most enjoyable trance travelling expierience yet. |

thumps up for the decoration effort!
i second cosmonaughty, he was one of the few who played a chill-out set on the chill-out stage...weird attitude (IMO) from some djs on this stage e.g. playing a chill-out track, then a rock track, then a hip-hop track followed by a progressive track and then an ambient track....and so on, almost like random...variety is good to have but not in this way...
also thumbs up to the friendly hungarian people!

I went to Atmosphere in Hungary in 2003 and that was brilliant. But this year, there was a rush of festivals all over Europe and perhaps many (as with me) had our fill in Italy.
Chill out, yes. I know some chill out DJs from Hungary that played main stage at the Slovakia Hilltop Festival (small but excellent, a gem!) and their view is that they don't do graveyard music! And they are very good . .
Sounds a bit corporate, but maybe it's time for all the party promoters in the EU to get together and ensure their festivals don't overlap or have big gaps in between.
I think Goodtrip arranged transport between festivals but there are not many who can spend the whole summer partying.
Say a three week trip with three festivals would be good . . .
