Outback Eclipse Festival Australia - No music during Eclipse

As reported in the Sydney Morning Herald (Saturday July 6-7 2002, Page 5 but not reporoduced on their website http://www.smh.com.au) it has been reported that at the request of NASA scientists no loud music is to be played during the eclipse.
"At Lydnhurst, a planned four day trance music festival is also expected to stop for the eclipse"
The eclipse only lasts for 32 seconds.
Bummer, was hoping for X-dream to build up to the peak of the eclipse.

The eclipse co-ordinator at Ceduna (near Lydnhurst) has requested on behalf of the scientists involved that it must be banned while the calibrate equipment.
Mainly it has something to do with the equipment used to photograph it and the minor tremors bass frequencies cause.
So how long it takes them to calibrate and what effect it will have on the night/day in hand is anybody's guess until the promoter makes it clear what is gonna happen. |

The music shouldn't stop really, it can just be quiet - like - some sudden silent pads and texture fx - without any drums and bassline.....
a good theme for a comeback upliting crazy beat

the official request to stop music for the eclipse will only effect the town of ceduna, which is 600km south of where the festival is. This will not effect the festival and the music will keep on pumping. |

The music should be off for the eclipse - it is a spiritual moment when you have the chance to see nature doing something that it is very special and very rare.
why do you want a raging sound system in the background.
peace and tranquility will allow you to focus on the moment that is unique.

hi you all
as i understand there are 2 eclipse festivals in ausi
well i'll be there at that time (been planing that for ages) and i want to know which one will be better
location is not a factor for me.
p.s.
i think that stoping the music while the eclipse will have a positive influence on all and people will get to new climete
