Sorry which answers. ask concrete questions.
Where did u get this "truelly civilised" concept? who told it to you, who taught it to you? Is it your own opinion?
Respect for other cultures? Comes at gun point. "Might makes right" is the law of survival.
By the way Im Polish, not South African. Im not in anyway notionalistic being a communist refugee. so no Im not in any way a part of the dutch, french, english, zulu or xhosa colonialists. (thats right. the last two were also present in sa only recently) But thats irrelevant.
What is so hard for you to understand that clash of civilisations will happen whether you in your delusions of moral authority think they should happen or not.
Consider what the americans did to their natives. they killed them all. Why? because they were so backward that they hadnt even invented currency as a tender for land, never mind decent defences.
Was it wrong to do so? who cares. they dont exist anymore. The americans are reaping the benefits instead of sharing them.
Anyway can we please just speed this up and ask me one direct pointed question instead of 10 million nebulous ones. |

Ok now that every1 is offended. Can anyone give an unemotional critique of Why Im wrong. It shouldn't be that hard to come up with one thats salient considering how incredibly strong the emotions flow. Come on just 1 logical.... deductive.... reason.
Why all the races, nations and peoples on the planet are not just worthless chemicals if an asteroid should hit us today? Does that answer change if we think about every1 right now.
Why All the species, animals, peoples, religious cults, political movements, rebellions etc. that have been slaughtered make any difference right now. especially the ones that didnt lead to any palpable historic changes today.
These are serious questions that Im sure some1 has a decent answer to instead of getting emotionally hung up. Or is the default method of dealing with these questions to silence any voices that are not liked?
Any abstract thinkers out there?
simple words that break friendships. No violence or cheating just abstract conjecture leading to irrational actions. |

he fact that we have been alive on this planet with that kind of thinking is a miracle to me. We have advanced very far on a technological level. Unfortunately we haven't grown quite enough consciousness to really use the technology we have consciously!
So unless we really make an effort now and here, every moment we are not helping anyone.
Look at us. 3000 wars in 5000 years (or was it the other way around?) and we still go on killing each other, enslaving and torturing, ok, today it is the corporations enslaving each of us, be it for gas, and now for food. And you are telling me some ceo of a company or some politician is higher on the evolutionary scale then me, because they have more money, power, influence?
What is your idea of evolution?
My idea of evolution is a synthesis of my inner and my outer, to grow on the inside (my consciousness) as much as on the outside (money=material freedom) and to keep a balance between the 2.
The human being has the capacity to love, to be compassionate. And it has happened before. It is possible, we only have to want it. All of us. I don't believe in some paradise somewhere above the clouds, where there are boring angels and all that stuff, I believe we have it within us as human beings to make this earth a paradise. And that to me is true evolution!
The time for "will to power" is over. And I fear if we don't realize that very soon we might have to start out as cockroaches, and soon...
On another note, I try to make my living exclusively with sound, be it Psy, on moviesets and in audio post production. And it certainly is not easy at the moment... never was. So I do whatever I can on the side to make an extra buck...

I thought this thread was about making music?
Whether people are worthless chemicals or an expression of something beautiful really depends on the person doesn't it?
Some perspective kind of helps. Yes, many bad things have happened, No not everyone is an asshole.
Evolution has been a 14 billion year process of development from simple less conscious forms to more sophisticated forms.
Language only developed about 150 thousand years ago.
500 years ago isolated tribes each had their own beliefs and did not know about the existence of other peoples on earth.
Only now do we have this perspective to see that development is happening.
Plus now we have some cool gadgets to make music with.
We're the luckiest people that have ever lived in the history of all that we know. We just do not realize it most of the time, and waste the time we have.

My point is that conflict is what got us here today. Us vs them is the longest running theme in history.
Beliefs about integration and sharing fly in the face of the really real way the world works, i.e. the weaker die out because of competition and conflict.
The people who usually come up with the live and let live opinions are coincidentally not the ones with any interests to lose or the ones paying for the consequences.
Humans have come out with more devious ways of competing and dominating each other (politics, economics, neo-capitalism) but the point is the same, to promote US vs THEM, despite that the naive hippies interpret this appearance of civility as progress the underlying factors remain the same.
In FACT if conflict, competition and death was removed, humanity would no longer be able to EVOLVE. Pretty serious contradiction for all the do gooders to ponder.
Back closer towards music
Money is an abstraction of the production that happens within a society and coincidentally goes disproportionately to the people who do precisely that. It doesnt go to the poor people because they dont have brains for innovation and initiative and create disproportionately little real value.
Disdain for people with money is like disdain for mostly intelligent, hard working, risk taking individuals that support all the mouths of their employees.
Sympathizing with starving slave wage workers who are mostly replaceable and only capable of doing basic productive tasks is the province of opportunistic politicians who want to steal a piece of the existing infrastructure pie for themselves, And hippies who are parasites that dont produce anything and live of the existing production in a society, and like to convince others that its ok not to work, to convince themselves I think.
Making money is about producing something of value, not getting money from "out there". Its about really REALLY producing something that is of value to people who like it enough to buy it.
SO when ur make money ur making value(good stuff). capisci? Which means when ur make money making music(irrespective of type or genre) , means ur going in the right direction, and when ur making a lot then it means ur hot shit.
Anyways... I think Im wasting my time. |

Human evolution has indeed been very messy.
Tribal consciousness existed when people identified themselves as part of a tribe, and could not see other groups as even similar to themselves... = Kill & Attack, Conquer etc.
As the tribes abused and enslaved one another, we all got to know each other, recognizing that which we are is not so different.
Eventually a more nation centric consciousness developed, where person sees themselves as part of a nation.
And after that, most of us evolved into world centric consciousness, where we recognize ourselves as themselves as being part of a world system...
The next step is cosmic consciousness, where we recognize ourselves as being the divine process of creation itself. We are all consciousness, experiencing itself subjectively... sound familiar?
Conflict may have given rise to evolution, but it no longer needs not be on the same gross physical level that it has been in the past.
Evolution at the moment is the evolution of consciousness, where conflict is the conflict each one of has inside ourselves, and with others, but it need not be physical anymore... think it has more to do with deciding how we live our lives as a collective and deciding "what the right way to live" is.
Anyway... sorry if I am ranting

Competition and death are by no means the only way the human species can evolve. Talking about physical evolution is a red-herring as modern medical science and our species' manipulation of the environment for our own benefits has removed selection pressure in that area; we are no longer shaped by the world around us as we were before the industrial revolution, rather we shape the world.
The other area of evolution applicable to the human animal is memetics - the transmission of ideas from mind to mind and from generation to generation. And if you think that conflict and death is the only manner in which succesful ideas can compete to survive and flourish then you truly live in a world without hope, quite different I'm glad to say from the one I live in. Just as your family and environment instilled in you a dark, fearful, manipulative, bigoted, supremacist point of view, so it is possible to instil an inclusive, altruistic, optimistic, positive outlook in our children. As you are finding out for yourself these attitudes can last for life, a fact organised religions the world over thank every day. THEM and US... there is only US.
Your final point is also incorrect; when you make money you make worth, which is very distinct from value. Things are worth what people will pay for them; things have value beyond their monetary worth. Do you value your life? How much is it worth? When you're making a lot of money, all it means is that you have good marketing, a monopoly or a captive market. The connection between value and worth has been utterly broken in our society.

Colin - Yes "we" shape the world, as in those that take part, work and think. Not the Pi in the sky talkers, wishers and primitives.
As for Evolution pressure being changed I agree, however it has been transformed not eliminated. No longer are violent brutes selected, but cunning entrepreneurs, scientists and generally productive people.
Indeed, memetics is amazing and by evolutionary selection has whittled out concepts we call society, and capitalism. But obeying the same necessities, namely production of worth or value.( I think you know what I mean without getting into semantics?)
And who gets the lions share? Well thats decided by 100% competition and mostly death. ( The winners/losers breed with better/worse genes, get better/worse standards of living, then die later/earlier because of health care what have you. Their offspring has more/less prospects respectively) Call it reproduction too then.
You may hope that all these advancements will ascend us to no longer need to work or eat or compete for food, I think thats a discussion for futurists and hippies not capitalists, politicians, generals and a public thats ever more demanding.
So when scientists come up with free energy (I really wish there was a symbol for masturbating) I will change my point of view. Until then what u just said is futuristic newage BS. Playful insult intended.
U ignored my earlier questions.
P.S. My family never taught me this "dark" stuff by the by. Working for a highly competitive company with bastards that will back stab me (very subtly) at any opportunity because they are competing with me for king of the hill, did. Every year competition is fiercer, and the quality of the people I have to compete with is frightening. These rich kids study success manuals, go on seminars on how to add value in delegating projects, get financial educations beyond any ordinary curriculums to help em get noticed for bigger things in the company . Ive never seen anything like this or heard about it before.
In any case the trend is obvious - less booty for more workers to cut their teeth and prove their superiority.
And corporations are cutthroat to each other as well.
Personally Im using the experience I get to start a company of my own soon.
I can see the whole thing is accelerating. this is one of those things that goes around and comes around in short succession. We live in interesting times. |

Heh heh heh. Dude unlike what u think, I dont actually endorse that sort of behaviour, i.e. rape and violence. I condemn it.
What u dont seem to get is that a piece of land is fair game, ask the israelis. Im sure theyre thinking real hard on how to massacre those palestinians and get away with it diplomatically.
Also that part of the world is very similar to Africa, in the way that the peoples there just seem to keep that place a wasteland perpetually instead of building progress. So I can see the israelis thinking "Hey , Y should these fuck ups own this great piece of land. Why shouldnt we take it away from them? We're gonna take it from em. Fuck the backward losers"
In short - U think that people are owed some sort of rights to existence and peaceful promulgation of their agenda, ways, and preferences. Nothing could be further from the truth. Fact is if you cant defend yourself militarily, then someone will come and kill you and take your stuff.
Thats just how the world works. And it works that way necessarily because 1. we all have to compete for resources and 2. we're all basically replaceable bacteria. SO ....
The only way to prevent being losers is to work hard, and develop a strong infrastructure, technologies and military. Unlike what the useless hippies do.
