The party was awesome, despite the facts my keft foot is fucked from being run over and I couldn't dance... here' how it went:
having spent 30 hours straight already with no sleep most of Saturday was just dozing at home, listening to some drum n bass and trying not to die from overheating in Japanese summer... got up at 8pm and had some dinner, swung by the net cafe to upload some fotos from the festival thenight before, and then jumped on the train for the 2 hour ride to Kokura... got to Kokura and rang Taka, nice guy, who was working with the crew and he came and picked me up from the station. The club was a convreted warehouse on the outskirts of a large town, I got there and was introduced to a whole bunch of locals who thought it was was either very funny or very cool to have a westerner decked out in a fluro Nabi records t-shirt at the gig... went inside was greeted by a subtle but nice set up... black lights and same nice decor... local dj's played first and it was just fast, hard and dark psy from start to end... loved it though a bit intense... wandered around a bit, downed a few beers and then was sitting back when I realised there was a dude looking just like Mubali sitting next to me... in my semi drunken state I say hi, then just say "errr Mubali yeah?" and he goes yeah and we chatted, and I bought him a Heiniken Wicked guy, to bad the music was pretty loud and made for almost no chatting... had aboogie from my upper half on and off, Mubali's set was just insane!!! Despite the fact he later told me he a bit of a computer problem, I had heard nothing like it!! I felt like I was transcending waaaaay beyond this world... he is an extremely talented musician, and I guessed rightly, as he confirmed later, that aklmost all of it had been new stuff with a couple of oldies chucked in... then back to the local dj's who mixed@up a storm and cranked the bpms until my mind was and ears were numbed in a good way... around 4 am I'd reached exhaustion point and crashed for a hilw in the bar, then on floor near the main door... Mubali came up and chatted to me briefly, explained the stuff up in his set, it still rocked mate!! And then I didn't see him again.... I left at 6:30am as I was just really tired and it was time to roll on... but all in all this was the best night I've had in 5 months in Japan!! Thankjyou Rockdenashi crew and hopefully I can convince my girlfriend to join me in seeing Alien Mental on the 12th of August!!
foto's will be posted but due to the lighting and the menu of my camera being Japanese only, it's just some shots of the main stage... oh and to Kaori, the cute girl who asked me to dance, I'm sorry but I was just way to tired and I had my girlfriend on my mind... hope it didn't annoy you and we can have a boogie next time...
oh and I got a high five from Mubali when I admitted I was the journey man from here he was very the excited to meet me... and of course vice versa... definitely no ego there, a great bloke!
