I had lots of fun at the last party these guys (complacent) had.
Lots of deco, art installations, bands and djs; its a huge joint effort!
Bom!

{ Note: We've added even more to this event
including visions of the future present by
C-Spot Designs; lofi lounge techno from
TwinA, Skillcrane, and Sean K; liquor for
Robots and a surprise fiery finale. }

This Saturday, September Twenty Third
TheDanger (formerly Complacent Nation) presents:

Future : Perfect
What is the future you dream of?
http://www.thedanger.com/future

This Saturday we offer you a landscape of art, video and
music mixed with dozens of visions of the future we
deserve. Expect one part future fantasy mixed with two
parts performance perfected.

Your Future Sounds Like:
Mission on Mars : Global-Electronic band mixes live
Breakbeat rhythms, Indian sitar melodies, space-jazz
guitar, middle eastern drones, into a funk chilled crater
of moon walking beats. Sci-fi fans revel and dream what
could be possible one day.

Chin Chin : Combining an eclectic electric group of
performers with an electric eclectic range of styles, this
is a groove you haven't heard. Be prepared for the hoe
down of a new generation.

DJ Dance and Future Sound Featuring:
Deep House from Turntables on the Hudson's Nickodemus &
Mariano; Moving Techno from Halcyon's dj Dirtt and Anthony
Parasole; Eclectic Dance Mash from $mall ¢hange and
Shakey; the laid back techno lounge by ImageNode; and
classic hip-hop from dj Grimace.

Your Future Looks Like:
20,000sqft. of raw Brooklyn loft, courtyard and rooftop
broken into touchable manifestations of our future dream.
Experience the ImageNode rooftop plush dome - a womb of
lofi techno and future visuals; climbable sculpture of
wood and shadow by Thomas Beale; new work of future
indelicacy by Ryan O'Conner; flights of fancy by Bunny;
live art battles by four of NYC's finest; grammar games
and robot dance by Action/Direction; retro-future video
projections by Sebastian Patane Masuelli; and installed
art presented by 3rd Ward Brooklyn.

Your Future Is:
Cheap drinks and surprise gifts, costumes and spontaneous
acts of affection. Experience a dozen visions of the
future perfected - spread across six areas of a rebuilt
and reconfigured raw space. For those that have been to
3rd Ward before, be ready for a new experience, we've torn
down walls to make rooms larger and add new areas of
exploration.

Come early, at 9pm the Miss Rockaway Armada will be
hosting a multi-media presentation of their experience
building an art-raft of refuse and floating/performing
down the Mississippi river. This is a vision of the
future perfected, imagine a weeks long art party of pirate
living with 30+ artists and dreamers directly engaging the
middle of this nation. See more about it here:
http://www.missrockaway.org

Stay late, at 2am (or later) the Champagne Ritual will
swarm the space with libations, flowers and exposed skin.
Expect a spectacle of stilt walkers, drummers and hoopers
that makes the future feel possible, presented by Anya
Sapozhnikova.

Our present is perverse but our future is perfect.

@ 3rd Ward Brooklyn
195 Morgan Ave. : East Williamsburg
The space has been redesigned for this event. Walls have
been torn down to create larger rooms and more
exploration. Come discover the changes.

$10 : 9pm through sunrise
Free kisses for costumes.
The paddle for the rest of you.

Your future is perfect.

Here we go again..

Complacent throws great parties and needless to say, i'm a big fan of 3rd Ward Brooklyn... 6362MetaForce's next party (13 Oct) will be there, and it's a killer space, run by killer people....

but this party (ComPlacenTNatiON) has NOTHING to do with trance and so wat is it doing on this website???? ((( ... and why, when i write this, will at least 3-5 people write back telling me i'm "close-minded"?? )))

ISRATRANCE is a TRANCE forum. There is so little trance in NYC, I simply can't understand why this community is allowing the music and the parties to diminish further by posting non-trance events on this forum and by defending other parties as 'trance-like'...

TRANCE-LIKE?

I'll keep promoting TRANCE, and infusing 6362MetaForce parties with psychedelic variety to keep the place and the parties evolving ...

... but TRANCE MUSIC is the essence of any trance party....and if there's no trance music, it's not a trance party, and does NOT BELONG HERE.

I will keep saying this until somebody outside 6362MetaForce family wakes up and realises we have a beautiful scene worth defending.... and also has the balls/eggs to stand up.

alll you guys doing this::: have you ever heard of myspace? tribe? any number of party websites in this city/nation?

LEAVE ISRATRANCE alone... for now, it's all we warriors of truly liberating music have. Speaking for myself, I'll keep standing up against this BS.

thank you.

hey Rachel, why don't you post your next trance party on a NYC techno forum? maybe some people from that scene will show up - probably the same as the number of psytrancers going to this event.. but it's a way to encourage interpenetration between genres and scenes. absolutely nothing wrong with that, imo.

          ..it's just another party..

this is a trance forum.

There was no trance party last saturday.

I posted thinking people would have a place to go (dance to 4-on-the-floor till past sunrise).

complacent was the closest thing to a trance party on that day.

the conservative atmo in the usofa makes it difficult to have any kind of parties here; mucho respect to organizers. If trancers dont have a party to go to on a saturday night in new york city, I guess as the french say, "cest la vie".

I apologize for posting OT; I promise not to do it again.

and dimitry, you cool.

I live open minded, and recommend variety for personal and cultural enrichment.
But I wasnt trying to "open minds." A decade of psytrance and Ive seen/experienced this done in vain too often,

and vanity in essence is not open minded.
Psychedelic appreciation of the mind and the world has been an adventurous path!

see you at the next party

PS

I went to a complacent party last spring by accident. Was going home after music stopped at midway (psy weekly) when I heard music coming from building on 14th and 6thave, right next to path station. Went upstairs and the dj was playing old psytrance, like ghostriders by sandman (I was *truly* amazed). http://www.flickr.com/photos/aadplus/sets/72157594149264541/

*Yes, they DO feature psytrance djs sometimes.

**Psytrance djs be aggressive and network with as many promotors as you can so we dont have a "no party in big new york city on a saturday night" affair. Just imagine busting out a full on psy track after a chee~zy techno set... freak! lol (this is how our beautiful scene which we are "defending" started out in the first place fyi)

Again, Im really sorry for posting off topic, and promise never to do it again on this forum. Thanks.

rachel ..

you wonder why people call you close minded ? simple .. when i read your post, if i close my eyes, these are the words that come to mind .. I ME MINE OUR SCENE NOT YOURS CLIQUE ..

dude .. goa started with a bunch of hippies on a beach smoking a chillum and fu*king around with audio cassettes, splicing and dicing till they put together some tunes .. they didnt tell anyone to piss off from their beach .. they didnt say oh your music aint as cool as ours, go away .. they probably said - hey man, theres still a hit on the chillu, wanna pull ?

open mind dahling .. if you dont want to click on the post, dont ... i cant believe that someone would raise an objection to a post about a party in the city, psychedelic or not, when there are all manners of stupid, innane, posts (read: how psychedelic is your life: india board, the twice a month staple: skazi vs. gms vs. rest of the world, etc etc ) if we had a perfect board with only mature, intelligent posts about specific dates and times for parties, i can understand.

but we dont. in that case, dont beat the shit out of the poor person that's trying to help around a bit by sharing information.

its not the specifics of this - its ur attitude ..

maybe it might have something to do with the fact that everytime you are within a five meter radius of me at a party, you step on my feet .. attitudes and physical manifestations often go hand in hand.

Warriors of truly liberating music ?

HA. tone down the self-lovin a notch ?

oh .. and it seems you didnt take the time to read gadi's post before he locked you out of your last firing range ...

there's much to be learnt if you just open your eyes and ears, and accept.

This is a great idea!

or work in collaboration with other electronic music promotors?
all while maintaining the trance-roots-alliance-hardcore-psychedelic-enthusiast integrity. If dedication is true, then brushing shoulders with others is possible without diluting or weakening the scene, no? or do you doubt yourself?

forming an alliance is fine, but being a warrior on the defensive and refusing to play with anyone else on the field not only sounds childish but will only encourage an introverted scene, diminishing it, ultimately killing psytrance.

Ego mania has been killing psytrance.

not only dedication to trance roots, but also diplomacy are the 2 best things one can do to ensure a healthy psychedelic scene.

Diplomacy will rejuvenate psytrance.

Would people here object if I try to get some psytrance dj friends to play at a future omni-genre complacent party? For all this discussion, there should be some action. At least rachel and vish are organizing a killer psytrance event, even if I cant afford it; but thats my problem...

hey man, is there still a hit on the chillum?
Boom.
