Ornament, an ambient project of Simon Polinski and Joe Creighton, released their first album Bleu on Cyan Music, a sub-label of Psy-Harmonics. I just received my copy in the mail a couple days ago, and I'm liking it a lot. It's full of warm acoustic pleasures. Wonderful organic sounds and atmospheres. The beats that there are on this cd are non-imposing and mix quite well with the flow. Do yourself a favor and check this album out. Not sure if or when they will be available at Saiko Sounds or Psyshop. You should e-mail them. I'm sure if they don't already have plans to distribute Cyan releases, they would probably be open to it since they already sell Psy-harmonics releases.
Did you know that it's 25 Australian dollars, and includes shipping? I bought a copy of both cd's, and the total converted to $37.66 . Although still a bit more than what it would probably be at Saiko Sounds or Psyshop, not near as bad as the $50 + shipping that you might be thinking it would be.

That right the price listed is in Australian dollars ...btw
with the current exchange rate it's approx 17.4470 USD per CD ($25) which includes postage......plus you get it from the source which in turns helps support the artists/label which is producing and releasing the material |

If anyone heard the Hesius Dome released last year will know that the 2nd ambient CD really is one of the most 'chilling' soundscape experiences...Ornament features same artist(s) but includes live instrumentation, fretless bass, wha'd guitars. Some of the tracks build slowly into psychedelic ozric tentacle type jams. This CD didnt get to me until a few listens, so it does not rely on the instant cool factor that a lot of psy-chill sounds, but the more you listen the better it grows...fully recommended this one for drifting |
