I've recentley started making trax with ableton live but I want to buy a sequencer that is more made for production rather than live sets.
I've played around with the demos of both orion and cubase and found that orion was much easier to use for a beginner, although i'm sure i'd get the hang of cubase quickly if I played around with it for longer.
Orion is about half the price but i've read that the sound quality on the previous versions where inferior to cubase, but i havn't found any good answers on whether v7 is improved on this? |

i think u should not make ur desicion on how user friendly an important sofware like a sequencer is. not at least if u want to be more than a mere hobby.
for sure cubase at first looks very intimidating and it tales longer to learn, but it is really really worth it! and it will show on the very first track u make on it! ull see!! its highly recommended to get (besides the included manual) some tutorials, my recommendations: Cubase SX3 Power! and the cubase ed dvd series: they both will save u much time and learn even the most adavanced fetures on cubase, (which are a lot). these is a software ull be using for years and still learn it has more cool features than u knew.
Cubase SX3!!
