I was just listing to my new favorite artist now on his myspace. i was recently introduced to terrafractyl on the forum. i figure it is very hard to be really original these days. if you think about it,
*there is only so much variation you can do on a certain scale.
I mean, the first song on his myspace very closely resembles 'spanish caravan' -the doors.
I was playing around with an idea for my new song,, fooling around some notes on the keyboard while i have this appregator on a major scale randomly going on a track.
i could kinda be original so you would not really notice the melody would almost resemble something like "Hava Nagila" or "Walk like a Egyptian" or something familiar on arabic scale. its getting harder to find an original variation that doesn't resemble a popular tune.
then i was thinking, fuck that, maybe it will be original just to do a cover of 'Hagva Nagila' (if no-one has done a cover of course), and i found out there is already lots of trance covers.

I was very surprised not to find any Nitzhonot covers. Found only one track, which sounded more like Greek Uplifting to me (and did not impress me at all). Strange... |
