hello,

i was wondering what people thought about creating their own samples? What programs would you use? Obviously you could record with a mic, but i dont have a mic or instruments to record. SO are there programs that can create them electronically?

It seems weird to me the idea of using samples from somewhere else, i would rather create the stuff myself, because for instance, i use reason and all the drum samples are absolute crap. how can i make a good one?

Its very hard getting into making electronic music it seems to me...

Everybody uses such different setups it is so hard to make any sense of what is going on...i can't seem to get any fullness out of the synths in reason.

i guess there are a million threads on this already i apologize if it is over-done.

well, i guess kicks hats snare etc, can you create those from scratch? or is that too complicated? Its just i feel that if you use samples your sound will be the same as everyone else. Maybe it doesn't matter. I dont know much.

I used reason before and is ok but if you try using logic and the VST plugins man you won't look at reason again! The quality is so much better!

Your sound, is your music, is your soul keep them all on the right track!

you can create samples with every synth.
you even can use sound forge as a synth,
with synthesis, and make the sound you want
edited with all the plugins and effects.

noise samples can create kinda snare or hat samples
thu is will sound digital but you can if you want to.
you can take drum machines samples and edit them
too.

and btw, reason samples are really good.

take care

use wavelab and one mic for the vocals .. bring friends .. and try to get some vocoder stuff .. VST or bether hardware ..
fx .. try to create with normal vst or hardware then take them to SF8 or wavelab .. and twist them until death´

and just like morax said u can use SF to make your own drums .. or fx .. with the sintetis ..
