hi there!
Im trying to immulate some indian/arabian instruments, and i could need some help here.
My question is, should i try to synthesize these instruments or should i just go find some samples. what would you do? Do you know some synths i could use?
Any oriental instruments are welcome, i just cant seem to find any..
I'm sucker for oriental ethnic instruments, this is sitar @0:11 btw, I think you should try to synthesize
it, but when you asked for samples East West Colossus pop out, I had opportunity to play with it, and it's great, but don't know how much it is,because all East West stuff is pricey...
Quantum Leap Ra is very good. But get the play version, it has more features to make realistic transitions...
But It takes a lot of your CPU...

are you trying to emulate them for composing ethnic music or for psuedo acoustic electronic flavor?
if its the later,i started using vocoders to control filters of sweeps/drones/pads... very cool and reminds of indian drones, try it The Way Back
