Unfortunately some people in the scene don’t want it to grow and want to keep it to themselves. They’re bored and they sit on the computer all day with an obsession to harm every good thing that’s happening in the scene,

These people are called TROLLS http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll .

Now “I would not feed the trolls”

If you are not a “troll” and you really care, you’re more than welcome to call us and tell us what’s on your mind!!

Um... I guess you can call me a "troll" because what I do for a living requires me to be in front of a computer for the majority of the day.

I'm sorry that you don't have such a luxury.

I think this thread had been conducted with good intentions.

Anything posted on this thread should be considered when throwing the Big Party this year...

I already bought my tickets (I hope pre-sales help), and I can't frigging wait to go to the party.

Comments like you just made, only reinforce the fact that you may be assinine individuals.

Ive told you guys, RESPECT,telling anyone there troll, wont help you to have a positive vibe, showing up the line of artist you invited in the past either,a club party is something, but there are lot more things to take care of when it come to an outdoor festival. You should expect that people are gonna complain about what happen so many time in the past, you shouldent tell them there troll you should try to convince them that you got your shit strait this year and that you learn from your mistake, everybody does mistake, its ok,hey I do to. but as a promoter insulting anyone on here telling them there troll and posting the list of the artist you brought all thogetere will just show the total opposite, try to have a better approach. and there is a big difference in dancing in the wood with your friend and a boom box, and paying more then hundred dollars hopping to ear a crazy massive sound system and you realise your better off with your boom box cause it sound better, but really I hope it will go well for you this years, just stop adding stuff to your line-up,it look good like that, invest more money into the infrastructure of the festival to make sure that people who pay to be there or work for you, feel good and go back home with only positive thing to say,and that goes for the future years to, you dont need all those name on the flyer if its to ear them in a bad sound system and you cant manage the other level of your festival.do it good or dont do it,but I know you can...just show it
all the best

Can you be a little more specific? I have met you numerous times and never had a problem...

Is this something we should discuss at the party?

I will be there early...

insulting anyone is not a good thing,it only make the trolls angry, then the trolls make you angry and so on and it never stop,no need to insult or get angry.lets move on and take what need to be taken in consideration to make a better festival.

to get back on topic..

the only complaints i have (from the 07 fest, wasn't able to attend last year) was the food selection and the line up/time slots. afaik hux flux never even made it to the fest, and the slots were all out of whack - most of the time we weren't aware who was even playing when (not that it mattered much, the music was great regardless)

i may be attending this year and will be very disappointed if the lineup again is fucked. especially if these allegations about adding "phantom artists" to the lineup to drum up sales are true. confirmations of who will be attending for sure would be nice.

One of my biggest suggestions is LESS GARBAGE and human waste PLEEEEASE!!! Which is partially the fault of the orgz for lack of recepticals and...cleaners I guess, near major areas but largely because of the patrons. There is no excuse for littering the earth with bottles, flyers, cig butts, food craps, etc AND absolutely no excuse for smearing shit on the walls of the friggin' bathrooms!!!! ::whew::..ok

For the organizers, please (at least) acknowledge the obvious problems with your festival. Everything is not peachy keen and those who complain are not all trolls and want to see you fail. If people really wanted to see you fail, they'd simply stop showing up which is starting to happen already. I think the biggest problem is the extreme hype and expensive door price in exchange for no show artist(some of which I've personally e-mailed to be sure they will be there this year), shoddy sound and dangerous construction, overpriced food and drink and ammenities that are advertised and aren't present...just to name a few. Julien had a good point, keep the price and far-fetched promises down and your honesty up- keep your customers. As of now-your fan base is waning.

Other festivals (one in particular draws 3Xs as many people) cost less and give a lot and those festies are in their 8th or 9th year. If you plan for your festival to be a legacy, you have to step up the quality or else you might not last past your 3rd year. On that note, I hope you all will surprise everyone with a mind-blowing festival (visually, musically and production wise) and have us begging for more. Good luck.           "It's ALL about the clickety-clack!!!!"-Neuronympho

I talked to the organizers of this festival yesterday, and they told me that they were going to have some extra generators at both stages to make sure that the power is high enough to drive all the speakers.

We also discussed the sound guys, and they said to me that they pay top dollar to get the best sound guys from NYC to come and set up the speakers and such...

We'll see what happens.

I suggested paying a trance guy like Ben-light-O-matic or Kri to help set up the sound and he said that they would rather have a "professional"...

I have one major suggestion: PLEASE POST THE SCHEDULE IN ADVANCE. Even just a day or two ahead of time would be great. If people can go into this with an idea of who is performing when, they can plan accordingly and everything will go more smoothly. In past years I've encountered people who arrived on Friday to find they'd missed their favorite act, as well as djs who weren't quite sure when they were supposed to perform. I realize that unexpected things happen, but I don't see why a schedule that's 90% accurate can't be put up on the website in advance.

Constructive criticism aside, I'm really looking forward to this one. Tranan! Posford! Zen Mechanics! Can't wait!

Um, yeah... Kri's been putting together some of the sickest festy's in the Southeast for over ten years, but he's not a "professional" ?

Fie, I say. Fie on that.
