That looks more like an aderondack or however its spelled lol.....if they were market as that instead of cabins then maybe there wouldn't have been so many complaints.

does anybody know what was wrong with the lake?            WARNING: The Reality Master General has determined that Mr. Vomit may significantly alter your reality. Usage of the knowledge provided by Mr. Vomit may be perceived as dangerous and subversive by those in authority.

We had a "high" adventure on the open seas of echo lake in a canoe. It was a blast.

@ Damon...I don't follow ya on the contradiction part.           Chillumafia

That is unless that is all you can dwell on, the negativity...tsk tsk tsk....Your problem I say. Sorry.

I honestly feel sorry for all you people who think the world is ending just because you didn't get your way 110%. IT"S LIFE. Look, shit is going to go wrong or not your way at a festival. It's your attitude that can make it good or bad.

Frankly a lot of your attitudes SUCK! I played there, asked for a meal plan on several occasions and was told I had one for free...That was not the case when I tried to get one, got told to basically go away without ticket...I had to purchase one....Did that ruin my time....NOOOOOOO....I ate DELISH falafel and potato burritoes all weekend...wtf is wrong with that...Yes to all that got scammed with the meal plan, I am sorry...that sucks. But it happens, next time you'll know to COME PREPARED!!!!

But to say the BIGGEST thing that sucked for me. Is the piss poor djing of some of the performers. WTF was that. I was under the impression that this is the BEST OF THE BEST here and nothing else…I heard sooooo many djs that were effing AMATURE at mixing. Most of Thursday and Friday it was bad. I was shocked by this. No names to be mentioned but seriously, you know who you are…You saw me shaking my head when you were looking around mid mix like “Damn I hope they don’t notice this trainwreck real quick”….and you just looked around like you don’t know what happened. PRACTICE PEOPLE. This is Orb, I brought my A game and gave myself 2 gold stars for absolutly ripping shit up….I hope the other djs start practicing, because until you get mixing right, your not a dj, just a hack. My list of people to bring out got real short after listening to some of the mixing. Call it what you want to call it, you sounded like shit, you know who you are. You looked like your ok with that…Well I am not, that doesn’t fly in my book, if you don’t know fundamentals of DJING get the hell off the stage and quit making me cringe with your mixing. I can’t believe more people don’t find this unacceptable. ANY THOUGHTS??????

You're kinda contradicting yourself Nick

That's not having a sucky attitude, it's just pointing out something that people should work on- it was more of a surprise reaction to hear this at a festival of this caliber and from djs that were talked up a lot. I know it didn't ruin our good time, but it's hard not to notice these things.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Umm. I have to go with damon on this one. Nick clearly contradicts himself.

He said 3 things which were bad but he lived with it. Good. But then he said major SUXORS for one of the most important part i.e. the DJs.

Looks like he didnt like the festival but just going with the flow of not looking bad. But bah, who cares. Glad you guys had fun. Probably see you in Sept. for ED!           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

lol...I am lost here guys...

I honestly don't see how I am contradicting myself here. No worries.

The reason that I am being adament on addressing the djing issue is not because I didn't have a good time because of it. Hell, I was happy to see where my midwest psy slingers stand in reference to the East Coast. I had a grrreat time despite this. The reason i am addressing is to hopefully induce a change. Light a fire under some of these people who thought their performances were "good". Seriously, who else mentioned this? Anyone but Kevin???

As a community it is our job to help eachother succeed as much as possible, the more individual success we have the more success we will have as a community. It's very important to set standards that operate on a one way street; the one way being up.

@ Ritesh, wtf man! I didn't like the festival???? Lol, with all the acts that were there!!! Put down that cali goodness my friend...I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE FESTIVAL! Don't go assuming otherwise

Last thing on this matter: it was only a few djs on the second stage, so it wasn't a big part of the fest. Like nick said, he was just stressing it to induce change for the better.

Awesome fking music. Psykovsky blew my mind! In fact, most DJ's really got my jollys off. met so many amazing people!

Deco was just wow. Sober or not, day or night, it was really impressive.

This was my first Orb Fest and really only my second Psy fest, but I have been to a shit ton of massive raves and EDM festivals. The vibe was so much better, so many better people, just awesome compared.

I had a great time but it was pretty rough. Let me cover some of the problems here and include explanations to help planning better for next time.

Line up? Even the DJs were complaining once they saw this. A professional needs to do this, like Shane Gobi : )

Meal plan was A-OK till the last minutes before the party was coming together, the contracted food vendor cancelled and that left the festival with no meal plan at all. The Orb people put together what they could with one or two days notice. Im sure they are very sorry, and there should be some compensation. I brought no food, and no money for food. I took what I could get, and didnt have the meal plan.

It is Ridiculous to charge artists weather they paid their way or NOT for a parking pass. From these reviews I believe Orb fest needs a few people specifically there for ARTIST RELATIONS. If you cant keep the djs happy, there will be nobody to play for the people next time. Thats one of the main priorities.

A week before the festival, inspectors came to the campgrounds. They declared the on site kitchen to be unlawful to use because of whatever lisences and paperwork, closed the lake for who knows why, and closed some of the cabins. 3 days before the festival, no cabins had power, there was no food available, and it looked pretty bad.

These things got cleared up a little but it still was pretty fucked. What can you do? Close the party : ( No, party on!

It was so last minute nothing could go on the website.

The generators were out of gas, don't know why though both of them. One had a faulty fuel guage (main stage). I know they were out of gas because I spent half my saturday trying to get the desil fuel for them. I couldn't get it done fast enough... but the music came on before dark.

Bathrooms, yuck, but not 100%. It was muddy, which made it worse. I think there was either one, or two staff to clean bathrooms for the entire place.

Cabins? Tent at this place. Cabins were a mess. Decent place to hold your things.

Orb crew like a lot of people mostly planned for everything to work out as planned, which never happens. I worked with them to fix the big problems that happen at the last minute that really need to be dealth with. I spent the weekend making things work as planned when they didnt, and I really worked my ass off when I wasn't partying. Im so happy to not see people complaining about the problems that could have been, that I was dealing with, and got solved.

I dont want to seem to be taking credit for anything, I want you to know that Alladin Proj. knows there are going to possibly be things beyond their powers and abilities to control, and they are doing something about it.

I really hope things all get cleared up and the next festival will go really well!

Maybe a new location with nice cabins, electricity, and more? I'm sure they are looking.

This was my first orb and I won't be back for at least a year or two. I had a lot of fun because of the wonderful people. The deco was also really amazing, and the deco class was really awesome!

There were in my opinion a lot of problems though. The timeslots I thought were not well thought out and the random sound problems were also annoying as well as the inconsistent timeslots. The lack of the chill lounge was also dissapointing. The toilets were quite disgusting. The security acted rather rudely at times.

also we unknowingly camped on a side of the road you weren't supposed to and our tent was dragged across the road in the middle of the night, losing our tent stakes (which were pretty vital to making this type of tent not collapse) and making us very confused in the middle of the night for awhile.

There were a lot of positive things here but I feel like the festival didn't really come together.

Echo Lake owner charged with health law violations

By: Melissa Stagnaro, Sun Staff Writer
Published: July 23rd, 2009

COVENTRY – The owner of the Coventry campground which stayed in operation despite being closed down by county health officials is now facing personal charges related to the offense.

Ahmad Shaheed, 57, appeared in the Town of Coventry court Wednesday to face charges of willful violation of public health laws in relation to his continued operation of the campground. The charges were filed on July 15 by Chenango County’s Director of Public Health, Marcas Flindt, just days after Shaheed hosted the 3rd Annual Orb Festival, a four-day outdoor music event, at the facility.

According to Flindt’s complaint, which was read during the hearing, Echo Lake had been officially closed by the health department on May 22. Furthermore, notice had been served on two other occasions, on June 15 and 22, that they needed to cease operation immediately because of the closure. These notifications were ignored, however, and the campground remained open.

Shaheed did not have an attorney present, although he was advised by Town Justice Russell Lerwick that he was entitled to representation. The business owner did not enter a plea on the charges, but he did make a statement to the court.

I paid money upfront at the counter for a friend who was coming later. This person named PETER wrote my friends name on the list. When i asked if i could do that, they said i could...

Later, tht nite they didnt allow my friend in. Luckily my friend contacted me somehow but inthe counter they said there were no such names. They didnt even have the list. And they couldnt find peter.

we spent abt 30-45min waiting... in the end we paid AGAIN $150 deciding we cud always cum later to get our money back which we didnt . i dont think they ripped us off but i jst wish they should've handled things better.

Yes, we're the ones who locked their car Friday morning... Thank you though for helping us unlock it..

Besides this... I had a gr8 time at this fest. Next yr if i'm still here in US will certainly be there.

shanti!
