The Pulsarian optical outs using ADAT format , as far as i know they uncompatible with the standart "Optical SPDIF" .
Because ADAT can transfer 8 channels at time,
and SPDIF opticalz transfers only 2ch.
My question is : what device u goin' to connect to yo pulsar's optical I/O ? |

u need a mixer with "ADAT in" or u connect via the SPdif/coax, cause of the number of channels like c3po has written.
there are several formats like dolby 5.1, spdif, adat,... and for each u need a specific device.

i loaded both devices, (spdif and adat) and connected them to wave source and digital wave source still no signal recieved in four of the connections..
and i still need an answer..
HOW can i send my computer playback through optical or any playback at all?
i am using scope fusion platform STM 1632 as a mixer and in it i have 1 spdif in\out, 2 adat in\out
and 2 s-mux in and out and i can't activate them at all
guess it's a bit more complicated than i thought
10x alot

Ok , i'm not familiar with the "scope fusion" ,so i can't help yo much about it .
But in the "digital-audio" it's like yo computer's
"IDE" interface , this "sado-mazo" system , when yo
have "master" and "slave" devices .
Actually it's called WordClock synchronization .
It's not the same as MIDI TimeCode or SMPTE.
The wordclock signal in all yo devices must run at
same frequency (same as sampling rate)
like: 44.1khz , it's better to use 44.1khz first .
So yo need to setup one of yo devices as a master
and the second as slave .
Yo can have only one master and maybe a couple of slave devices†.
btw ,when u work with system like that , u need to turn on all devices connected to the digital I/O's
even when u don't use some of them .
Don't forget : when yo power-up yo studio ,
first turn on the master and then the slaves ,
with power-off : first the slaves and then the master
maybe it's sounds a pain in the ass , but this is how it works .
EZ ,
Peace. |
