when i bought my pc i did check that the cards will work with cw.... but, i have also had situations where i had to stick m cards in a random pc and all worked fine.
i had to take a pc with the scopes to a radio station once, and i didnt want to take my studio pc, so i stuck the cards in my girl's crappy preconfigrued from the shop pc and all worked fine.
i also took my scopes to germany once for a gig, and stuck the cards in a pc donated for the gig from a local computer shop's display there... again, all worked perfect.
just the fact you can see i trusted the cards to take them for an international gig without knowing what pc i am going to be getting to use them with should tell you something about the stability.
you have to understand, especially with the biggass scope proffesional and multicard setups, that you are not buying some usb gadget or webcam. this is a serious rig, and of course it is to be expected you need the right setup.
is it so surprising that a card that is two layers big (scope pro), as long as your pc case, and with 15 dsp chips on it will need a friendly setup?

bought the right mobo, a scope-card i borrowed worked fine. my card nada. so its a complain abt the service.
but as this topic started with someone who was thinking abt buying scope its relevant.
but lets forget my case, maybe soon i will get garantee and another card thats working.
then i would like to use it with toshlink into my motu828. by that time i will ask you for a nice simple modular3 bass-patch. ok?

If it indeed was a faulty card and they returned it still not working that sucks.
Their service is for sure not great...it was bad before they went bankrupt, and after they reformed it seems to have gotten even worse.
Luckily I have not personally had need for their support, instead I had horror stories with most of my equipment I use with the card when I splashed out on a nice portable Scope setup.
Dell sent me the wrong power adapter with my laptop, but kept insisting that it was correct. After spending hours and hours speaking to different departments they said that it indeed seemed like I was correct and they would send a new one.
That never arrived and after repeated attempts to get it fixed I ended up soldering it to work.
My Magma box I sent two times to the states for service before it was fixed, ending up paying customs thrice.
In all fairness otherwise their support was very friendly and dedicated...but even so it was very costly and time consuming to get a working box from them.
Sonic Timeworks took more than a week to get a reply for my request for activation codes for their plugs.
Basically it seems to me like most companies suck, and even if they really make an effort things will go wrong sometimes.
In the end it took me a year to get my setup working really good...but I'm really glad I endured in the end.
Seems like you had bad luck with your card and I hope CW get their act together and sort you out.
Maybe try to get hold of Ralf at CreamWare...he should be the man if you want results it seems.
If you have tried the card in another machine as well as tried another card in your machine and you tell him that they really must get you a working card ASAP.

I only lurk sometimes at planetz.
I'm extremely happy with the Magma CB-1...I got it year 2000 but didn't get it running properly until 2001.
Now I only use it when travelling or for gigs, but I never had any issues with PCI errors and can always use my Pulsar 2 card fully loaded no problem.
Still runs flawless on my now severely aged 866Mhz Inspiron 8000.
Most of the stuff was about the same price then as now apart from the laptop..you really needed the absolute cutting edge then to make it a nice portable studio...damned laptop was about £3500.
Magma around $1000...then in my case 3 times V.A.T on that :\
But considering the amount of music I produced on it and the number of parties I played on it and that it's still in service I have no regrets.
